I remember when the track balls were in computers before the invention of the mouse came along. I would always just spin the thing like crazy in pixelated paint programs. I want one just for the childhood memories
1The best pointing device I've EVER used BY FAR has been my Microsoft Trackball Explorer. I SWEAR by that thing. People laugh at me when I play Quake and Unreal Tournament with a trackball, until I completely smoke them.
Unfortunately Microsoft discontinued them so they're like $150 now.
Personally I can't stand thumb-driven trackballs like the one from the article; I find them too sensitive & not sensitive enough at the same time. I like big trackballs that I can get 3 fingers on.
It looks like logitech has a big trackball now, might have to try that when my current Microsoft Explorer Trackball bites the dust.
