The bane of my existence is the amount of remotes in my house now. We have so many different home electronics — each new, fun purchase bringing a new plastic rectangle with it — that they've just added up.
I have a place for all of them, but they still end up all over the living room and you can never seem to find the exact one you need. At last count (but not checking behind the couch cushions), I had about six, but oh wait — I have a Remote App on my iPhone for iTunes, so that counts too — that makes seven!
How many do you have?

We have one for our projector and one for the converter box that we don't use. Our TV is 30+ years old so no remote.
1Each TV that we have has 2 remotes - one for TV and one for the cable boxes. Except the living room TV, when we got DVR we got it down to one remote (..it's only 2 if you want to count the DVD player which isn't used a daily).
2I only have 3 now that I use on a regular basis. all the others have been boxed up somewhere.
3that remote app for iphone sounds awesome... too bad I don't have an iphone
Only 3 TVs in the house, but about 2 remote controls for each. Oh, and one for the stereo system in my room.
4I forgot the one for my iMac. So make that 8 remotes, haha.
5Four, which is funny considering I don't have a 'real' TV. One for the cable box, one for the DVD player, one for this usb thingy that I plug into my computer to make it a TV and the remote app.
6We have 3;
7living room one for the tv and a remote for our xbox 360 (when we watch movies) and one for our tv in our bed room.
Okay, so I OWN remotes (for my video camera, and for my macbook pro - also one for my car radio, how weird is that?) but I never use them, they're stashed away (or are they? They may have gone to the trash, for all I know). I don't own a TV / VCR / DVD / DVR or anything else than could pump crap into my brain, so my home is pretty much remote-free!
8Also, how can anybody say they have "only 3 TVs in the house"??? That's insane. How many is standard for you, 8?
9we have 3 TVs in the apartment, each TV has their remote and the cable remote and a DVD remote.. then my laptop has one, the surround sound has one, even the climate control has one! haha
10We have 3 tvs. So that means 3 for each tv. Then we have 2 converter boxes currently so 2 more controllers. Then 1 for a dvd player, and 1 for the receiver. So 6 remotes. And more to be added later. Yikes.
11All hail the universal remote! Only one.
12I've GOT to get a universal remote! I have 4 that I regularly use.
131 for turning the TV on/off
1 for volume
1 for cable/channel changing
1 for the xbox to watch DVDs.
Teehee! I see my comcast remote in that pic
I only use one but we have like 7 stashed away in the random junk drawer..
144
158 for Tvs + recievers, Xbox remote, Windows Media player remote, DVD recorder remote, 2 DVD player remotes, 2 fan remotes, and a digital picture frame remote. Thats a lot. Can't find most of them!!! Sometimes I even have to hijack the kid's remote to change the DirecTV box!!
16Just one per tv! We have Harmony remotes for each.
17I have four: iPod dock, stereo (which everything is plugged into, so it's the volume for everything), tv/monitor, and PS3. Unfortunately, I can't get a universal remote because the PS3 uses Bluetooth, not IR.
18I voted 4 but forgot I have more than 5 (my iPod dock and iMac remotes...blah).
19I have three for the TV, but I usually just use two.
20When I brought home the Roku box my roomates were like "great, another remote!" i would love to have a universal one. We have tv, cable box, dvd player, stereo and roku player. The wiimote is lying around too, lol.
21I have remote controlled ceiling fans in almost every room - so that's 7 just for them ... I'd say a total of about 12? Wayyy too many.
22Harmony remote FTW.
I have no idea how many remotes I have for the living room, but I only use the Harmony to control it all. Its one of the best gadgets I own. They are getting much cheaper in price now too...
As far as the 2 bedrooms, just the one remote for the TV in one bedroom, and 2 in the other bedroom (one for TV and one for DVD)
23There's 3 in my house, but I only use one.
24Two. One for the TV and one for the DVD player.
25TV, DVD player and Ihome!
26Seven.
273-dvd player, cable box and tv.
28Each bedroom has a tv so two remotes each for them (cable and tv).
29The living room tv has the one it came with, the cable remote, the TiVo remote, the dvd remote, and the blu-ray remote.
The stereo has a remote and the pc has a remote.
On a daily basis though, I only use the main tv remote and the tivo remote.
Still, that's 11 remotes!
when i get my new dvd player and move out of my current roomie situation, i'm springing for a logitech harmony remote
30I have only 2, but if you have a lot you might consider a remote organizer, like the Remote Buddy, or if you can try a Universal Remote.
31TRUE STORY: In my second year of college, my apartment was broken into over holiday break. While the guy didn't think to take our TV, stereos, gadgets, etc, he DID take a jar of change and half of our remotes. I'm not sure what he was going to do with them, but I have a feeling this guy wasn't a world-class burglar.
Needless to say, watching a DVD is a total hassle now.
32Let's see...in the whole house...about nine or ten. Two of them are mine. But I'm about to buy one of those JUMBO universal remotes. I think they are so cute and I hate having to look for little remotes.
