I use Google Image Search several times a day, but there are times when you need the opposite command — specifically, finding where an image is used on the Internet. TinEye provides this kind of "reverse image search," and it's as easy as any other search engine.
All you have to do is upload the image that you'd like to find — I used the very common '70s red bathing suit Farrah Fawcett poster.
TinEye searches the web and then populates your results with websites and blogs that that very image was used on, even finding cropped or otherwise altered versions of that image.

So neat!
1Pretty neat if you need to find out if someone is using your photos online without your consent. But I'm not sure it serves any other purpose.
2I agree muse. I don't really see the point of it to be honest.
3scary. someone can trace you to your homepage from a public site.
4I love it! That way I can give credit to whomever took the picture without having to search everywhere.
5This took way too long to be invented... I've wanted an app like this for YEARS! Thanks GS. =)
