We've heard this all before: MSI introduced an ultralight and portable laptop at CES yesterday that is touted to be an "Air Killer." Humm, I'm not so sure about that just yet, but it is a 2.9 pound, 1.98 centimeter package with a 13-inch widescreen (16:9) display (virtually a Macbook Air clone), so it's sounding pretty good so far.
What's the biggest jaw dropper about the MSI? The price tag that starts at a whopping $1100 dollars cheaper than the Air at $700 bucks. Now, of course I'd need to know more details (ports, memory, hard drive space, etc.), but the X320 is looking pretty darn nice, especially since saving money is kinda key right now.

Finally, I can afford a MAC!
1I would have to hear about the features, the lightness scares me. I mean I like my laptop with a little more weight. I'm afraid of something too small not be strong enough to withstand transport.
2i'm a mac person, so i don't think that i would be swayed to get the MSI, but i think that it's nice that there's now an alternative for other folks to get since the technology is really exciting.
3I agree with LaLa, but more because I'm not graceful at all and tend to drop or ruin things. I like my MacBook Pro because it's lightweight enough to easily carry anywhere, but it's still durable enough to not be able to make origami out of it.
4I love the lightweight look/feel of the Macbook Air, but have never been able to bring myself to pay the Mac brand premiums on hardware. I'd rather pay the same price for WAY MORE capability. Paying way less for the same capability in a lightweight laptop works for me, too.
This might be the new frontrunner for my next laptop, over one of the small form factor machines like the Dell or HP Minis.

I don't think it's an air killer for die hard apple fans, like geeksugar, but for other people, like myself, who want some great technology for waaaay less, it's definitely the better choice.
6Mine is for home use only so it doesn't matter to me...
7I'm with AdriH. The biggest problem with Macs is that you pay so much more in order to get less functionality in the same "class" of computer.
Assuming the new MSIs have the same or more features, I'd be far more likely to purchase it.
8I'd want it because it ISN'T a Mac! I use a Mac at work and a PC at home, and have come to really, really hate Macs.
9I don't like these kinds of laptops period, they're *useless* to me without an optical drive.
If I *had* to buy one though, I'd buy the MSI, because paying $1700 for a laptop that has LESS stuff in it [when I could buy a MacBook with MORE stuff in it for cheaper, or any other full laptop, or even a netbook!] just seems kind of bonkers.
10At the end of the day unless it is running OS X I have no time for it. If you could run OS X on the MSI I would probably buy it for a travel machine.
