Yesterday, the world's thinnest 17-inch notebook was unveiled by Apple at Macworld, and she is a beauty. With a unibody enclosure, glass trackpad, and a high-res LED backlit widescreen display, the 17-inch Pro looks and feels like a million bucks — sleek yet robust. The best part? The included longest-lasting battery that is said to last up to eight hours on a single charge and can be recharged up to 1000 times.
Apple did build the battery right into the encasing to save on space and weight, but what that means for you and I is that you're stuck with the battery and you won't be able to easily change things like your Ram. Aside from this minor flaw, I'm all about this new $2,799 notebook.

Sounds nice...but I think that the whole built-in thing might put me off. Plus, I'm not entirely keen on the size and positioning of the keyboard.
1As much as I love Apple products, I don't like the black/metal combination on the new MacBooks.

3It's difficult to change RAM?
If I ever got one, I'd still attempt to do it myself, the Apple
RAM is such a ripoff.
4This has no use for me (if this was a 15 in maybe this would make sense), and it is just too damned expensive to be justifiable. I'm waiting for a touchscreen [get rid of the trackpad!] and a Mac tablet laptop.
If the battery only can be recharged [fully, I guess?] 1,000 times, especially because batteries tend to *run down* and by the 200th recharge won't hold a charge like it used to, what are you supposed to do when the battery's done for? Buy a *new* MacBook Pro?!

7A big piece of ugly. The keyboard looks so bad, the color scheme is ew, the keys look like the kind that fade after typing too much. I was expecting better. 2 thumbs down.
