I thought I had found the solution to weather updates with Umbrella Today — a neat site that will text you when you need to take an umbrella with you that day. Guess again!
A new little invention called the Weather Man Forecaster Clock ($43) features weather forecast icons (sunny, cloudy, rainy) and a cute little weatherman guy that comes with 15 different outfits, so you know exactly what to expect when you walk outside. Other features include an alarm clock, sunrise and sunset times, and barometer pressure trends. It doesn't get any easier than that!

Cute idea. I remember the CBS morning news in Los Angeles had a series of cartoons of how your kids should dress to go to school based on that day's forecast. It is good to see the concept in a clock.
1We bought my son a My First Weather Station (http://www.plowhearth.com/product.asp?section_id=0&department=0&search_t...). Same concept but much simpler for the kiddo to understand.
2Everyone in my family has one of these- they're not so new! (Ours don't have a weatherman guy, though, which is way cuter). You put the remote sensor outside- ours is on the porch- so that it can gauge weather for you. Beware, you'll need to find a pretty accurate spot to place your sensor... one place we had it for awhile was maybe too shady or far away, and kept reporting the temperature like 10-20 degrees off!
3Yea same here, my dads had one for a few years now.
