Now that Macworld is looking pretty bleak, it's no surprise that tech companies like Sony are looking to cash in on the CES/Macworld buzz, which usually entails the unveiling of hot new gadgets. Well the Sony New Zealand site has just debuted a new countdown ad, which states that a revolutionary new Vaio will be announced on January 9. Exciting, but what I want to know is will it be just as revolutionary as the rumored Mac Mini desktop?

1It doesn't have the same cachet. People don't look forward to whatever Sony/Dell/HP will unveil quite the way they do with the Mac.
