I feel like I've been anticipating this news forever — almost as much as Netflix coming to Macs — and I can finally say that the HP Vivienne Tam Special-Edition Notebooks are available to purchase on HP's US website!
I know, you know, I'm a Mac girl, but when I saw this drool-worthy digital clutch on-board the Virgin America Gogo WiFi test flight, I was totally smitten. And with a starting price of only $700, I'm seriously considering saving up for one.

that's cute! for some reason I thought they'd be less expensive.
1Aww cute! It's a little geek clutch.
Man.. if only
2Huh. I just customized both the Vivienne Tam and the original HP Mini and with the exact same configurations they are the same price. Meaning that you could get the Vivienne Tam notebook for the same starting price as the original Mini: $399.99.
That was unexpected, especially since the "base configuration" price for the Vivienne Tam notebook is listed as $699.99, as Geek said and I've read many other places.
Just figured I'd share.
3Oh, wait a minute. Upon adding it to my cart it changed from the "Mini 1000 VT series" to the "Mini 1000 XP series". So apparently when you try to customize the Vivienne Tam notebook with the base-line configurations, it changes it to the original Mini.
That's kind of screwed up. Why make those configurations even an option if you can't get them on that specific laptop?
4For about $300 more, you could get one with everything.
5THOSE ARE GORGEOUS.
6Only 60gb hard drive and runs XP, not even Vista.
7No thanks
I've been tempted to buy this, but it is waaaaaay too expensive!
