After hearing some ho-hum reviews about the BlackBerry Storm, I was beginning to think that it wasn't going to give the iPhone a run for its money as predicted. But now that I've watched the Storm in action, there's a feature that I'm already in love with, and I think you physical keyboard fans will love it too.
Unlike the iPhone, which is strictly a glass touch screen, the BlackBerry Storm touch buttons actually depress when you touch them, since the entire backside of the screen is backed by springs. You will feel the screen being pressed and will hear a quiet click, just as you would with a keyboard on a Curve or Bold!
The Storm hits Verizon Wireless stores today and costs $199 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.

its so prettyyyy
1If that screen isn't glass you better get some sort of protection for it as it will be a scratched mess
2as much as i love the iphone/ipod touch look, I am a serious blackberry user. too bad they don't have this for t-mobile. i still love my curve though!
3I'm so excited for this phone! I'm getting it on Tuesday probably, for my birthday!
4i hear there is no wifi on it?
5I am thinking about getting one-- but no wifi?! caaammmmmmmooonn.
No there isn't wifi, which doesn't matter to me because I live in a city that has very live wifi around.
6I played with one on Friday and it is not that cool. At least for me. You have to push down hard on the screen for anything to react. Not a fan at all.
7I played with it yesterday, but I have a very strange "condition"; phones just don't register my fingers! I went to the new Apple store right after and the same thing happened with the iPhone. I've also tried this with the Dare. I don't know what's wrong with my fingers!
8posssum and I have the same finger problem. I'm glad there are 2 of us! Someone told me the screens are designed to react to "human flesh." So clearly we are exraterrestrials.
9I went to see the Storm right after thanksgiving...it was slllllooooowwww. The sales rep assured me it was because they were having some bugs and the new software they were getting that week would fix it.
10I hate the touch screen, whats the point of a touch screen if you have to press it like a normal button?
I want the iPhone so freaking badly, but AT&T is crappier coverage and more expensive for me than verizon, so when I heard this blackberry was supposed to rival the iphone, I was psyched. Now I just want to yell at verizon's president for not taking Apples offer to be the iphone provider (why, why why did he turn them down? what he high? on crack?). Maybe next year the storm will be more like the iphone...or maybe I'll just wait 4 more years when Att&t's exclusive contract is up.
