I don't know about young people and men being more optimistic when their technology fails...my friend just had her Macbook hard drive fail. She's in law school, and she lost a week's worth of notes
She was pretty mad that she had to pay $200 to get it fixed, and thought she might
actually FAIL out of law school b/c of the lack of notes.
When my computer starts acting up, I just get more discouraged. It means that it's time to get new technology or a tuneup...but that means MORE money I have to spend that I don't have. Based on experiential knowledge, I'd have to disagree with that study.
