Last week, I learned Natalie Portman is reportedly considering taking a lesson from Justin of Justin.tv and "lifecasting" - as in letting a camera follow her every move and making a continuous video feed of her work and personal life online. As Catstarr so aptly noted, it sounds like a combination of MTV's Diary Show (you know the one were celebrities say "You think you know, but you have no idea" over and over and over again?) with the Justin.tv show.
The lifecasting phenomenon has been going strong for years, but it hasn't gained this much attention before. It's the stuff reality TV is made of: Constant, in your face raw footage of the lifecaster going about his or her daily life. Justin.tv has obviously become a geek god through his show, but there hasn't been a hit female lifecast star as of late. (I'm not counting ladies that drop their clothes for webcams - that is something else entirely.) Do you think you could attach a camera to your hat and go about your business, or would you be completely camera shy?

I could never show my life off for everyone to see. Society is extremely critical of anyone who puts themselves in the public eye, and I wouldn't want the world judging me.
1No way.
2No way, I value my privacy way too much! I'm so sick of the reality TV shows. Maybe, once they finally go away I'll turn the cable back on. (Btw., if you don't have cable where I live you get zero channels). We turned it off like 3 or 4 years ago (and I haven't looked back). And, I don't feel like I'm missing anything..from what I've read.
3I might do something like that if I were working for the right cause and trying to raise awareness of it, but given that right now my life consists primarily of changing diapers, nursing my daughter, playing with her, and vegetating with the computer or a good book during naptime, I hardly think anyone would be interested!
4I wouldnt, nobody would care about what I do everyday, all day.
For I dont care to watch someone else go about their life, everyday, all day.
5I would. I really don't care what people think of me. They can hate on me all they want; I am sure no one ould watch, anyway.
6sometimes i feel too exposed just by blogging. and it's weird b/c i enjoy improv and screenwriting too - but even doing those things which require characters that are not myself - i still find that you have to give of yourself so much - even though people don't know it's you - it can feel exposing.
7I want to keep my life private!!!
8I could not do it. Even for a large amount of money. I live what is far from a scandalous life, but I veryvery much value my privacy. I'd much rather keep things like my emotions private; I don't want to have to put a veil over my feelings.
9No way! I dont even have a myspace or a facebook. I like to live my life for myself not for a bunch of random people watching me on the internet.
10I kind of think it'd be neat.
11After thinking about it, i realized the world is full of creeps and a lot of them are on the internet. If I ever did somethign like this, I'd be really extremely careful.
