Did you know that digital TV viewers in the UK spend an average of three and a half hours a week channel surfing? The results didn't indicate whether the participants (aged 16-20) had DVRs, which I'm assuming would alter the total amount of time. Ever since my TiVo entered my life, I no longer have to worry about bouncing around from channel to channel, hoping to find something that peaks my interest — because I always have hours of taped shows that I know I'll love.
What about you? Do you still spend time channel surfing?

I will record things that I know I want to watch, but I never fast through the commercials I love to watch them. Also I do channel surf, but the new systems let you scroll through the programing list so you don't have to flip and flip. So in a way I think channel surfing is evolving.
1i don't really waste time channel surfing, but i do waste time internet surfing. :/
2I waste too much time internet surfing too!!! arg.
3omg i am such a channel surfer!! i should go pro hahaha!!!
except when it is a show that i know i dont want to miss hahaha
4I don't watch a lot of TV. I don't even own a DVR because I have no need for it. But when I'm bored and there's nothing else to do, I do tend to channel surf to pass the time.
5I wouldn't say waste...I really like surfing through channels.
6i've never been much of a surfer. i look at the guide or online to see what i want to watch and if a commercial comes on, i bear with it. its too much work to switch to something else and to come back.
7I hate surfing, but my fiance loves to channel surf. Luckily, the digital cable cuts it down a lot since he can use the guide.
8unfortunately I dont watch as much tv as I used to. I want DVR but I refuse to let Comcast win with their inflated $15 bucks extra charge.
9Generally, I skim through the channels once... remember a couple of maybe's along the way and decide from there. I don't really channel surf all that much...
I use the previous button alot. I find 2 interesting shows and flip back and forth.
10I have no TiVo or DVR system...so yes, I waste a LOT of time surfing for stuff to watch. I have a schedule down for shows I want to see, and if it so happens that I find something else fun to watch...well, thank goodness for Picture-in-Picture!
11I LOVE my dvr! I still flip at times but mostly we look through the channels ahead of time and set things to record in advance so we never have to watch commercials!!!!
12i have tvguide bookmarked on my toolbar so i always know what's on tv and turn to the shows i want to watch. i don't channel surf at all! such a waste!
13I used to, but now I don't watch TV at all. I hate commercials, so when ever they'd come on I'd flip through the channels or mute the TV. Commercials are the worst, one of the worst, inventions ever. But I knew what I was going to watch and watched it. Otherwise I'd be internet surfing. That I do a lot. Way too much.
14Internet surfing > channel surfing
15Only when I'm sick and bored XD
16I only channel surf during commercials. If I have to see the Geico gecko one more time.....
17Internet surfing killllllls me. I don't even have a tv with antenna or cable!
18Not so much waste, more like "surveing the media" that's what I tell my dad lol
19There needs to be a simple "no" response.... I know what I want to watch--or I look it up ahead of time. And then I watch it. I can't afford a DVR or anything like that--I just watch my shows when they're on!
