Ouch: Word is that Verizon is pulling the Samsung Glyde from its shelves due to unnamed issues, even going so far as to offer a different kind of cell phone if a current Glyde owner sends one in for help.
I know the Glyde as Nate's cell phone on Gossip Girl (I wonder if the show's attention to detail will include having his phone replaced?), and had heard less-than-stellar things about it, but I feel bad for the people who chose the Glyde — it's always sad to lose a new gadget (or have your gadget cred challenged).
On that note, what is the worst gadget you ever bought, and why? A malfunctioning MP3 player? A computer that was refreshed the day after? Spill!

Both of my goes with iPod. Each time iTunes ate up my memory, never synced correctly and the battery was awful...
1Now I have a Zune
I put that in the last comment but it didn't show...
2Samsung Blackjack. It would freeze up repeatedly, the alarm would go off when it wanted, it would never get any signal, and I had the worst time trying to charge it.
Also, it wouldn't charge from USB when off or dead.
A true piece of crap.
3Either the iPod or the Motorola Razor. Both are unbelievably sh*tty. I can't believe how much popularity the Razor gained; everything about it, from the battery life to the camera, sucked. I've owned phones that were a hundred bucks cheaper that were of better quality.
4I bought a Creative mp3 player, and it wouldn't turn on from day 1. Their tech support was atrocious, it wasn't even worth trying to return it! I just took the hit!
5My former Dell PC -- a big, black piece of crap.
Also my T-Mobile Dash phone. Horrid sound quality, bad battery life and wifi never seemed to work. What else do you expect from a phone running Windows Mobile?
6A Creative Microphoto Mp3 player. It would always freeze on me and after 8 months it just never came back to life. My sister had one as well and had the same problem. I got an ipod and haven't had any problems with it at all.
7I had a creative nomad mp3 player that was AWFUL! It would freeze constantly and had to be charged all day in order to listen to it for an hour. Oh yeah, and it was bulky and huge which made it really inconvenient to carry around in my pocket.
8all of the samsung phone I've ever had were crappy, once I switched to LG I've never had problem since.
9I have a Motorola Q and I would throw this piece of junk in a river if I thought I could get something better without spending another $200.
It has not synced properly from the first day I got it. I had to do a hard reset after it stopped allowing me to send texts and answer calls. It turns off when it wants to, usually when I am waiting for an important call. Battery life is awful. I can no longer see the text messages that I send, only the ones I receive. Basically... IT SUCKS.
10The Microsoft mouse I was using at home that fit oh so nice into my hand through long Photoshop sessions that the right click mouse button broke on this week...useless. Only had it about 6 months...and it wasn't cheap.
11My Sony Vaio Laptop. I love it. When it's working that is. I bought it Dec of 07. It has had a hardware crash (where I had to wipe everything out) twice, the sound driver messed up, the DVD drive wouldn't work, etc etc. It's frustrating.
12i don´t really remember, but when i was eight i spent all my money (20 dollars) on a monopoly jr game at some computer store, and a week later i got the EXACT game in a cheerios box
13I woud have to say my chocolate from verizon (the first one they made) because it was constantly breaking and everything. Not the best decision =(
14A Dell computer.
15I bought a Radio Shack MP3 player/FM Radio/Voice Recorder/USB drive for $100 and thought it was a steal. Unfortunately, after dropping it 3x, it's basically a really expensive 1GB USB drive.
16My Treo.
It had windows mobile and I got it before smartphones were really as mainstream as they are now. It was always freezing or I was accidentally calling people because of the touch screen. I didn't even have my email sent to it because just synchronizing drained the battery so much.
Switching to a Blackberry was the BEST thing I ever did!
17the razr. i loved the sexy sleekness in the commercials but when i finally got my hands on it, the love affair came to an abrupt halt. it dropped calls, you couldn't hear, the battery never lasted a full day, the pictures were crappy, the software froze, the stupid thing got too hot if you did have a conversation and it never lived up to its promise. i hated that thing and don't understand how it revolutionized motorola. i used to love saying hello moto. then i got a razr and it all came crashing down. never again!
18Acer laptop, would never, ever purchase an Acer product again.
19I bought the original Motorola V3 the day they came out a few years back - they were $999 here in New Zealand.... it stopped working within a week and they wouldn't replace it. In the year I owned it, it spent over 9 months total in the shop at which point they told me it was my fault as it had water damage. Curious they didn't tell me that after the first time it went to the shop? Perhaps someone was eating their lunch while trying to fix it the second time? Either way I will never EVER deal with the company Vodafone or Motorola ever again. What a waste of a grand!
20Oooo and the comment above reminded me - Acer laptop. Worst computer ever - it hates me. And what irritates me more is my step brother has the exact same comp and his works perfectly. ARRRGGGHHH!
21Compaq desktop computer (in 1999). I bought one, took it home, and it wouldn't start up. So I returned it for another one . . . which crashed in the first 10 minutes.
Then I exchanged it for an HP, which was much shinier (figuratively and in actual color).
22Probably my BlackBerry Pearl, due to the fact that after I dropped it for the first time all the keys started began wiggle whenever I type on it and that they came out with the newer one like 3 weeks after I bought mine.

24Sorry for the double post!
25all the phones i got when i had at&t
26their phones suck, and their service suck.
Compaq computer way back when. It sucked.
As for phones, I had a samsung about 3 yrs ago, and after about 2 months it started to randomly turn off on its own. I called AT&T (or samsung, one of them) and they were kind enough to send me another one which worked...but I never used a samsung after that.
I had a razr (still have it) I like it, but I feel like the software design is a bit boring, and really difficult if you wanted to customize the themes. maybe its just me tho.
27I'm glad they got rid of the Glyde, if for no other reason than the name just sounds dirty. I have had pretty good luck with gadgets, except for a pricey cuisinart coffeemaker that broke after two weeks. It was clearly defective, and they replaced it.
28My Aunt gave me a Zune for Christmas, and I refused to use it (not in front of her), since I loved my iPhone & it does basically everything. I loaded up some songs on the Zune for my mom to use, and the dang thing froze, music disappeared, just about everything that could happen to an MP3 player did. Something even got screwy with the headphone jack! Anyways, I bought her a Nano for a late Christmas present, and she loves it.
29I really like the design of the glyde and would've purchased it had verizon not been (and still is) so expensive. I've had good luck with gadgets. my bf, on the other hand... his ipod classic would sometimes freeze when it was connected to his car sound system and it wouldn't work at all when it wasn't connected.
30My Dell computer. I have replaced the hard drive three times, the battery and the power cord once. And how it won't turn on unless its plugged in. I wish I could afford another one but I can't and it really annoys me. This computer has been a piece of crap from the day I bought it.
31well I like my itouch LUV IT LUV THE APPS!!!! I have an LG viety cell phon,LUV IT!!! I have to say the HTC wing wasnt one of my favorite gadgets, I had the T-mobile dash it was great!!! I had a dell axim X3i handheld with the added memory was great!!! I have a toshiba laptop LUV it, with technology always changing I am always out for the newest and latest thing, I already have my next cell phone picked out!!! ;0)
32Also I bought a Samsung Mp3 player as seen in the pussycat dolls video with slideout speakers and fm radio it was awesome!! I started out with the philips gogear which was a nice starter mp3 player also with fm radio. My 8 yr old has a small pink samsung mp3 player she loves it!!
33My Blackjack II was horrible! I couldn't receive calls and there were dead zones everywhere!
