For me it's got to be the interface. I've used multiple MP3 players(from friends, family and in stores..) before I had an iPod and up to now but none of their interfaces come close to the interface the iPod has. I even used my cousin's first generation iPod and it was so easy.

And I think that's what has made the iPod so popular against other MP3 Players. I mean, they all offer music playback(obviously), a lot now offer video playback and some extras thrown in for good measure but what all the other brands lack is the ease of use that Apple has perfected with the iPod.

That's one thing that hasn't changed over the years. After all the design tweaking, the features upgrading and the different models put out, the interface has always been and will always be(I hope!) a piece of cake.

The only thing I like about the iPod is that it keeps all my music in one convenient, portable place.

Other than that, I think the iPod is the worst product on the planet (and I am a Mac lover, so it pains me to say that). I have had nothing but bad experiences with mine. I take good care of mine -- it has a case, I keep it in an arm band thingy when I exercise with it, I've never dropped it or roughed it up -- and they seem to have a lifespan of MAYBE a year if I'm lucky. If it were not for Apple Care and the free replacements I get every time one loses its life, I would never buy one again. In fact, when I have to buy another one, I'll just suck it up and live without it.

I LOOOOOVE my iPod. I got a gold mini (the original) for my birthday 4 years ago, and it lasted throughout university and still works just fine. Last year I bought myself the new iPod 80gb video and it's just the best gadget I own. It went with me through 10 European countries, keeping me company on long train rides and drowning out the sound of the cities if I felt like having a soundtrack to my long walks. I also backed up all my photos on it and still have tons of space for movies and photos (plus thousands of songs). The battery lasts forever, I use it in my car, on the treadmill, when I go for walks.... the screen isn't even scratched! And this is something I keep on me 80% of the time. I don't think I could live without it.

Omigoodness!!! I can't believe that the Apple Ipod has been around for seven years!! I have had three apple ipods, and hopefully soon i will make that four (i really want the ipod touch)!! The first ipod i got was the Ipod Mini in blue, then the next one was the ipod nano, and now i have my ipod video. I loooove my ipod and don't know where i would be without it! Sooo HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ipod!!!

I love my iPod. 'Tis a wonderful thing. My first one was a blue 1st gen mini that stopped working, so I went and bought a black 30G video. Still working, though sometimes a little cranky, and I can't WAIT to get an iPod touch, or if I'm lucky, an iPhone!

I love the iPod. My first was a first generation pink mini, then I got a 30 gig iPod Video, then I moved onto the iPhone. I also have a pink shuffle for working out. I may have a problem.

I have 3 different models and love them all!

I love the iPod! I've had a few -- the first nano, the Classic and the Touch -- all of which I sold on eBay to help pay off a few credit card debts. Now I own the nano-chromatic in pink and love it. What I love most about the iPod is how easy it is to sync music, videos, photos, etc into it. Other MP3 players I've used aren't as user friendly as the iPod. I use my nano for the gym and use the iPod on my iPhone for when I travel. Best invention ever! Happy B-day iPod!

I love my iPods. I have a 3rd gen black 30 gig iPod that I got for my birthday two years ago. The case is all scratched up but inside the ipod's screen is scratch free yay! And my fiance got my an iPhone for my birthday a few weeks ago and I'm obsessed with it!

Wow! Happy Birthday iPod! For something so high-tech and modern, it also seems timeless within its seven years of existence.

I would die without my iPod. Seriously. Well, I guess not, but it's hard to imagine a time where if you wanted to listen to multiple albums on a plane or something, you had to bring all your CD's! I have had only good experiences with my iPod! My friend even named hers.

iPods are second nature to me now. I had an original one, and I've upgraded more than a few times throughout the years.

I have one of those old timey ipods. the old nano 2g where it only came in black and white. yup, that's what I have. My boyfriend told me that Apple releases new ipod models every 6 months, and they have the next 3 years of models lined up... something to think about. Can you imagine all the people who alwways need to have the new trends and they are always "out with the old in with the new." They must spend a lot on ipods every time there is a new release.

I bought my first iPod a month ago, it's an iPod nano and I'm quote happy with it although I miss a lot of functions that my old Sony MP3 player had. So I wish it had more functions, but it can also be that I haven't figured all functions out yet.
