Do you chronically blank on your passwords? If so, I have a little tip that can make things much easier on you: you can recover saved passwords from any site in Firefox in five easy steps! Ready? Here we go:
- Right click anywhere on the web page you need to sign in to.
- Select "View Page Info"
- Click on the "Security" tab in the menu.
- Click on "View Saved Passwords"
- Click on "Show Passwords"
You can then view all user names and saved passwords that have been stored by your Firefox cookies.
Is this tip helpful? Yes — I have forgotten many a password in my day and this would have saved me time and frustration. Is this tip dangerous? Possibly — if your computer isn't password protected and it just so happens to fall into the wrong hands, you could be setting yourself up for a problem. My solution would be to use this little tip when you need it, but remember to password protect your computer so it's safely locked when you aren't around!

this is wicked helpful!! i have so many passwords because i have so many different accounts!!
1I love Firefox because it remembers your passwords! I just got a new Dell though and it has the fingerprint log-in thing which is really awesome!
Oh and for anyone who does use Firefox, there's an addon called Skiper or something like that [it has a Dog for the little icon thing] that's supposed to auto-fill out forms and remember passwords. Don't add it on! It doesn't work and it totally messes up your computer!
2Oh wow! Thanks!
3wow now i know my boyfriends password. i feel bad...sorta
4I have a lot to say about this post...
1. You only gave directions on how to do this for PC users, which I was surprised about. I did see a way to do in if you are a Mac user like me, but I won't share it.
2. When I first saw this post I was angry because I've gone to many lengths to safeguard all my passwords by changing man settings in Firefox to not remember ay passwords, usernames, etc and to also clear private data every time I ex out of the window. When I saw this post, I thought you had discovered a way to get around all those things which I think is awful if you don't want to people to be able to use your computer and get that info.
After I found a list of usernames and passwords my EX boyfriend had made of all my accounts. Emails, facebook, bank accounts, etc., I've gone to eery extreme to make sure no one can get that information from me again.
I kind of think its a bad idea to post this, because then you have given people the knowledge to find out information they shouldn't have, i.e. steffy08 successfully obtaining her boyfriends password. What ever happened to privacy, geek? I know you were trying to use this as a way for us to recover our own passwords we had forgotten, but really? This information will most likely be used maliciously, not helpfully.
5This is a standard feature availiable to anyone who has firefox and discoverable by anyone who spends more than ten seconds looking at tools> options where it also resides. It's hardly the worlds greatest hack emms.
6Also my boyfriend showed me this tip a while ago, and I have never even bothered to remember his passwords as he's entitled to his privacy. Certain people are always going to do certain things regardless of posts like this or not.
7good to know, i just added on the colored tabs and they make me happy
