The official invites for the special media event on Apple's campus for October 14 have already started rolling in, with each invite featuring an unidentified notebook that says "The spotlight turns to notebooks," at the very bottom. At 10 a.m. PDT next Tuesday, Steve Jobs will get up in front of an eager audience to announce the new MacBook and MacBook Pros, which will feature a total redesign and major upgrades. The crew at Boing Boing have already predicted that it will have a 13.3-inch diagonal length. Here's what else you can expect:

Temperley London
Michael Stars
La Perla
I don't agree with boing boing's predictions entirely.
1I reckon it'll be around $800.
of course! thanks apple - I only shelled out $2000!!!!! argh!
2...and I'm hoping in my excited little heart that the MacBook Pros have a full display touchscreen instead of a regular trackpad...oh, the possibilities.
3PinkTink- if you shelled out $2000 you didn't buy the entry level model. The current MacBook starts at $1099.
I am very excited for redesigns on both the MacBook's and MacBook Pros. I LOVE the lightness and looks of the air. I just need beefier specs or else it would be mine!
4i'm hoping it's more like 800. mac needs more entry level budget computers. my first mac was only $899, but i'm saving for a new one since a non intel mac is getting hard to update.
*please touchscreen. i hate scroll pads!
5i don't care how much it costs really, i was ready to get a macbook a few weeks ago. i'm glad i waited, i would've been so upset if i bought one and a new one came the next day
6Budget macs are not always a good thing. My iBook G4 was pretty cheaply made but my Macbook Pro is perfect.
