I'm one of those women that seems to just soak up cigarette smoke. I can stand next to a smoker for 10 seconds and later, I'll go home and smell the lingering smoke on everything - my hair, my sweater, my shirt.
Using ion technology, this portable device concept designed by Jun Kurihara removes cigarette smoke in a convenient and cost-efficient manner. According to the designer, it's gentler on clothes than dry cleaning and ideal for freshening clothing after you leave a smoky bar or restaurant. It takes the ordinary clothes hanger to a completely new level - no more harsh dry cleaning to remove smoke or odors from clothing.

Serious? This would be so useful in Japan - where there are so many smoking areas.
1That'd be useful, when I go to College there are so many smokers you cant avoid them!
2That is very cool, I want it!
3But how does it work? It's kind of vague, right? I hate cig smoke in bars and restaurants, but depending on your exposure, hanging the clothes out in the air overnight can do the trick.
4What I do is place the clothing item on a hanger, and hang it up in my bathroom as I take a shower. I close the bathroom door to keep the steam in. The steam from the shower takes away the cigarette smell off my clothes. When everything cools down the smoke smell is gone.
5It doesn't look big enough to work. At least not on anything heavier than that little tank top in the picture.
6That's so great!

7I do the same thing as Nightwind. The steam really refreshes clothes.
As for the hanger, I thought you had to supply power to ionic plates for them to work? Maybe you have to "charge" this before you use it?
8febreeze works just fine for me.
9Seems like a good idea, I'd try it. I usually just put my clothes in the dryer with a bounce sheet or a hanky sprayed with febreze.
10Wow this is awesome, but yeah nothing a little Febreeze can't fix!
