These days I tend to just look for a desk lamp that can do what it's supposed to do: light up. Even when it has a nice second feature, like this lamp/iPod dock, I just want a utilitarian lamp.
But I could totally ignore all that for this USB Desk Lamp by Japanese Design firm Conof, which provides light and spare USB ports? Plus, I just love that cool C-shape — and the lamp head also rotates 270 degrees. Doesn't look like pricing is available yet, but I'm wishing and hoping for a green one.
But what do you think? Is it modern cool or just modern cold?

well...maybe not all but close to it. I need a lamp that can be able to turn and direct light, but also don't want to have all my apple devices plugged in the same wall.
the two USB ports are perfect for my needs, except i probably would ask them if i could even do a hub because i kinda have an iphone, a nano, a shuffle, and a 80gb classic...yikesss...
but i also wonder...could i power the USB humping dog?

i think the 'extra' USB ports aren't much to get excited about. it'll take up one USB port on your pc to plug the lamp into, so you only really gain one additional USB port.

27i think it's rather conventional. i dont use my ipod often, so i don't really care for it much. though, im sure my boyfriend would love it since he enjoys listening to music while he studies.
