Pop caught Adam Brody at the T-Mobile SIDEKICK iD Launch in Hollywood and I noticed there was an unusual number of ladies out to celebrate the event as well - making me wonder if the new Sidekick will be the more feminine counterpart to the limited edition Dwayne Wade Sidekick 3. The iD certainly has the whole pretty and pastel thing going for it in these photos, but from what I hear you can actually customize the cover and make it whatever color you want. Jenna Jameson and Kelly Monaco showed their love for it by doing the "here's my sexy pose with the phone" move that's become popular on the gadget red carpets.
T-Mobile is marketing the Sidekick iD as an "entry level edition of its popular 'BlackBerry' for the young and hip," reports Smart Phone Today. The new Sidekick is the same size and shape of the $200 Sidekick 3, it has a few less features and is only $100. Unfortunately, there's no camera, Bluetooth or MP3 Player on this model, but you have the bonus of being able to customize the exterior.
Teen pop queens and Simlish fans AJ Michalka and Aly Michalka, Michelle Rodriguez and Taryn Manning also walked the red carpet. For their photos, read more

I wouldn't mind having one of these new sidekicks as long as I could get it in pretty pink!
1the Sidekick ID is missing alot more than just the camera on it...there is no Bluetooth, MP3 Player, & a microSD slot...
It still has instant messaging (AIM, Yahoo, and MSN), email, and web browsing...it's not worth downgrading to, but for newbies to the SK who don't want to pay $200 for the real thing, shoot...
2I just love this phone but...I live in Canada and I'm with Rogers Wireless. I know fido used to have the Hiptop 2 but they don't carry them anymore. I want to stay with Rogers Wireless, but I really like the Sidekick phone...Is there some way I could get the sidekick in Canada and stay with Rogers...?
3ugh Jenna Jameson looks horrible
4It would look better in Pink.
5you can get sidekicks to work minimally on services outside of t-mobile. go on ebay and search for "unlock codes for sidekick", or "unlock sidekick", and people provide the service.\, BUT doing this means that you can't use AIM the internet or email, which kinda defeats the point of a sidekick...
6thanks...i guess I won't buy it because I was really just buying it for Msn and email...
*sad*
lol thxs anyways
7Cute but I can't live w/o the camera, bluetooth and mp3 player! Impossible. How else to share cute pictures, songs and other lovely stuff?
8I had one of the juicy couture pink sidekicks and I loved it! I think the downfall of the new sidekick is that it isn't pink- I would buy it in a heartbeat.
9i rather get a blackberry
10L!VE !N LOVE
i have the sidekick 3, and i having no plans of change it, but is nice
11I just got one of these, but I already have a nokia 5300 wich is also an mp3 player, has a camera, and bluetooth!!!! grrr...i don't know which one to keep....I'm going to have to sell one on ebay...the sidekick id is soooo cute, and I already have an mp3 player and a camera so
12i don't really need these features on my phone, what shall I do???
i'd buy this if it had a camera and bluetooth...it would probably still be under $200 if they included these features...why they didn't doesn't make much sense because i only know a few people without camera phones. plus bluetooth is just standard as well. it would be good in addition to a cell phone though, for instant messaging and email i guess.
13The Sidekick iD isn't "missing" the camera, mp3 player, or bluetooth. It was purposely left out to make the iD cheaper to buy. It's the whole point of the phone. Plus, I've had the sk3, the camera sucks anyway. And it's good for people who already have an mp3 player (which a lot of people do) and a digital camera, so really, I think I'm getting this.
14I just baught one for T-Mobile only cost me 50$..
I have an IPOD Nano 8 gig..
I don't mind the No Mp3..
I don't mind the No Camera or Bluetooth
Now that i think about it..
Maybe one day bluetooth = helpful
but all other perfect
