Go Google! I've already confessed how much I love Google Maps, and that was even before the latest news — Google Maps now offers transit info for the entire New York metro region! With the transit option you can check out transit stops in your area and view station information and schedules. Did you know that Google Maps offers transit info for other cities like Chicago and San Francisco? Be sure to see if your city is on the list. Oh, and if you need to find out what time your train is going to arrive while on the go, you can visit m.google.com/nyc for transit directions on your cell phone.

They're putting HopStop out of business ... doesn't help that MTA and the mayor are endorsing Google. It really isn't fair when NYC already had a local company doing the same exact thing that Google is doing now.
This is why small businesses can't survive here ... the big guns always take them done.
1begalspice, there are several nyc transit sites. I've never used HopStop and always used trips123.com instead. It makes sense for google to integrate everything.
I'm already looking at google to see where the place is, why should I have to go to another site to see how to get there?
2I wanted to know how to get home from my college using the bus system (I live in Miami, FL), and so I used Google Maps - WORST IDEA EVER. I told a bus driver what Google had told me to do, and she told me that I would have been on the bus all day if I did it that way. So, I love Google, but I'd rather not listen to their bus and subway advice.
3I always used HopStop. I may give Google a try, just to see, but I really like Hopstop.
