Can graffiti/street art be considered cute? I wouldn't dream of marginalizing the work of street artist Peter Gibson, but when I saw his modification of double yellow road stripes — turning them into electrical plugs, I raised my eyebrows and thought of the twee word. I mean it as a compliment: I'd smile every time I saw this, if it were in my neighborhood.

Gibson, who first started making street art as a statement about our disconnected "car culture" (it's relieving to hear the disconnection pointed at cars, rather than tech, by the way), said, “My original intention was to simply introduce an element of surprise in an otherwise uniform and predictable environment.” And how.

1Ha, that's so cute! I don't think I'd like this everywhere, but it would be fun to stumble upon.

4nice.
5hehehe, cool, watch the road LoL
6i really like that. i LOVE street art, and i think that there are a lot of artists out there that have really done some amazingly creative things.
7that's pretty cool...
8I agree, geek. This is making me smile even now. So clever.
9Why do you insist on ruining the streets? Quit destroying public property. I don't come to your house and force my "art" on your property. Don't do it on mine.
Let's see...I've got a great idea for a piece of art. I go to your house and cover it with dog sh*t. We'll call it "sh*t on sh*t." That's clever. Do you like that?
Quit f*cking up public property. You're not cute, clever or even that original.
