What did we ever do before technology? I was chatting with some of my girlfriends about online dating the other day and we all admitted: The internet has given us access to information about our lovers and friends that we might never have known. With search engines like Google and social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace, you can easily track what a person has been up to, what music they like and who they dated before you. It's time to fess up, is it just me or do all of us have a tendency to do a little "I spy with my little eye" on the world wide web every so often?

It's a part of the culture now, if it's online it's not your information any more, it's anyone's info.
And... I was in the initial flirting stages with this guy and i googled him, and he turned out to have an assault record, so it helped me dodge that bullet.
1There really should be an "I use them all" option in this vote. A true stalker will reference all three.
2LOL, having been married for 17 years, I don't have any reason to google anyone. Hmmmm, maybe I should google my sister's dates!!
3Ooo, I have googled a couple of people but I try to find most people through myspace.
4I have both googled and myspaced former dates. I even used it to help my old boss weed out potential replacements for me before I left. Those who had constant blogs bad mouthing their former employers I told her to stay away from, plus she was running a law office and if these girls used their blogs to dish their personal feelings towards their employers, I could only imagine what they would do if faced with a client. It did help her out in the end.
5Always and I always share GeekSugar with the details of whom I am dating.
6I would use all three like a true stalker as someone said but since I do not have a myspace account or a facebook account (out of principle i refuse to do it) I stick to google. But really, anything I have learned hasn't helped me so unless I like the guy I don't bother.
7I definitly utilize all of the above! XD
8i agree with you sidesmirk, i am a complete stalker online when i like a boy. It's horrible. It's great to see what they like, see what their friends looks like, etc.

The morning radio show I listen to was talking about googling your dates this morning. Apparently the more interesting thing to do is google your boss!
10My current boy actually found me on myspace after seeing my personal on yahoo.
11My profile had a statement that I'm geeky so he figured I must be on myspace. He looked for all the Amy's in my city who are my age until he found me.
I got back in touch with my boyfriend on Facebook after about 4 years of not seeing each other. We made contact, and when he came home from school on Thanksgiving break, we got together and began our relationship. I had his facebook, myspace, and then of course I googled him lol. But I google all my loved ones

I use all three to check people. I get really frustrated when a guy I'm dating/want to date doesn't have an online identity!
13I think I'm slowly realizing that I'm a Google addict.
