If you want to give your beautiful Mac laptop that extra bit of mojo it needs to get back in the fast lane, here are a few tips that just might do the trick.
Clean out start-up items To avoid unnecessary applications automatically setting themselves as start-up items, go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items. To remove them, click on the item and hit the minus button at the bottom of the list. Be careful not to delete any important applications!

Get rid of unused widgets With so many fabulous free widgets available for your dashboard, I know how easy it is to go on a downloading rampage. If there's some you don't use, make sure to disable or delete them as they take up RAM and processor power to run, even when your dashboard is hidden.
Turn off some features If you don't use tools like universal access, bluetooth, speech recognition, and internet sharing, it is best to turn them off as this will save you RAM and processor resources.

Widgets are a huge resource suck. Any widgets with webcams or live video are cpu killers. I had downloaded the mirror widget (so you can do a quick check to make sure nothings in your teeth
and it made my camera stay on while the widget was loaded.
Another huge resource suck is Fonts. If you are using FontBook to "manage" (it's NOT a real font manager btw) and you loaded in 5000 fonts... those fonts are sitting in your User/yournamehere/Library/Font folder and each time you load an application it has to load and cache your entire font collection. I once did an onsite where they couldn't open any Adobe applications without it crashing.. They had over 10,000 fonts in that folder!!
2I'm loving the purple too!
3Where could I get that purple cover?? I've seen the red and clear and don't love them but really like the purple.
4So cute!!!! Does it come in pink, green, yellow, orange, or blue? I like color...
5Sorry I should have posted a more specific link. You can either buy it pre colored from this company or send yours in to have it colored http://www.colorwarepc.com/products/Col_Macbook.aspx I would say there is like 20 colors to choose from. They can do almost the entire Apple line up, not just iBooks and MacBooks. Here's the page of what products they are currently doing and the prices associated with it. http://www.colorwarepc.com/products/apple_services.aspx I've never used them but they have been around a long time and I would use them if I was in the market
