The downside to all these gadgets I love is that my apartment looks like a tourism ad for Cord Country. Solutions abound, but they're usually an endeavor in which you have to unplug and reorganize, which stresses me out to even think about (not to mention not wanting to disconnect certain electronics).
Here's something totally different: Cordwrap ($29)! Don't hide it, just wrap it! I've thought about DIYing something like this for a long time, but again, thinking = stress. I'm actually disappointed that the picture only shows the beige check pattern, because there are a number of bold and neutral colors available in cotton and silk.
But are these brilliant, or just another mask of a problem that needs to be hidden?

At $29, i think it is overpriced.
1the way i see it, fabric=dust... so you're going to have dust collecting on the fabric cord covers everywhere in the house. and since most dust is usually found behind things, such as night tables, entertainment centers, etc, and that's where most cords are, it's just an allergy attack waiting to happen.
2Seems like a waste of money
3I had the exact same thought imcs. With 2 cats in my house, those things would attract lotsa dust/fur bunnies.
4True RE: the dust...this definitely looks more attractive than having criss-crossing bare cords all over the place but the dust would be an issue. I think these would be a fairly simple DIY project; at $29 that's a bit much. I remember sewing my own hair scrunchies back in the day and I'm pretty sure I could modify that template to make these - removable so that I can take care of the dust!
5Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I have a weird feeling that this would be a fire hazard.
6Sadly, I'm the mayor of Cord Country, so anything would help.
7not for $29 bucks!
8leave it. they can do better though i question the point necessity
9Uh.. lol?
Its a scrunchie on steroids. If someone just HAS to have one they could make it in about 5 minutes.
but still..scrunchie. No thanks.
10So, like, instead of having a hundred wires running all over your apartment, you're going to have a hundred multicoloured floral caterpillar-scrunchies running all over your apartment?
11It looks neat for a single, unsightly cord. However, not so much for a whole roomful.
I've seen this a couple times. I think it's a hideous idea. I wouldn't pay $30 for some fabric to cover my lamp cord. Sometimes you just need to leave well enough alone. Learn to hide your cords better. Jeez.
