I freak out when a new color of a gadget gets here, because it's just totally fun to see a familiar object rendered in a cool new hue — like the metallic silver option for the Nintendo DS that you can now get in the US!
I like having the option of getting to pick the color when I'm make the purchase later. I take it so seriously, like the one time I had a car and got to choose what color would be driving me around. It's an extension of your accessories and the gadget itself (it's no doubt why custom Colorware is popular).
On the other hand, there's a conservative part of me that likes basic-colored gadgets, that I can then use cases to temporarily change the color of the exterior. I'm a fashion lover, after all, so I like the variety and to be able to change it up with my outfits! For example, if the iPhone came out in red, I'd pass, choosing instead to sheath mine in pretty colored sleeves and cases.
But what about you — do you like getting a gadget in a different color, or do you like just changing its case for your color fix?

*loves colour* I love putting colourful things into colourful things just 'cause I can, but it has to look good together...
Sadly I own zip in the coloured gadget department, though I own a few purdy cases/sleeves so it's allll good!
1Depends. I usually like the silver look. But some of the light pink gadgets they have are cute. I don't like the bright, over the top colors though.

4I have the white iPhone and I made my own cozy for it. I have a gold DS with the Triforce on it- cause Zelda rules!
5One of my most coveted gadgets of all time was my pink iPod mini (everyone knows the iPod mini is for girls). Actually I have a special Nintendogs Nintendo DS that came in pink too. When I don't really have a choice in fun colors (ipod nano 1st gen is white, iPhone was silver - now I have white) I like colored cases. I have a hot metallic blue iFrogz case on my iPhone that really makes it stand out.
6Colored gadgets!
It's a fun twist on the default gray hues gadgets usually come in!
I almost get sick sometimes when I look at my collection; the array of pink is crazy. 
I'm surprised the silver isn't here yet though, I've got the Metallic Rose that was announced with it..
7Yeah I really wanted a green nano but my boyfriend got me a silver one and now I love playing around with the skins and changing its color.
8colored!! and pink!! I don't like the standard gray/silver. and I like the look of cases but I don't like the feel of them.
9I love white gadgets...and i love my white gadgets to be in blue cases
10I like colorful devices. If the iPhone comes out in red, I would be soooo sooo tempted. I wouldn't buy it because my first gen. iPhone works fine, but I love the color red and keep my current iPhone in a red case.

12I prefer colored accessories/cases. I have a white DS, a black iPod, white Nano and white 1st gen Shuffle but have colored accessories for all of them. I do like the looks of colored gadgets too but always seem to get the neutral colors. But if I get my boyfriend a DS for Christmas, I'll get him the blue one. That way I'll have the best of both worlds!
13Colored gadgets. I have a red blackberry pearl right now. I had a red samsung blast recently that just kind of died, hence the new blackberry. Prior to that I had silver phones the razr and a really pretty siemens phone.
14I wouldn't mind a gadget w/color on it, but my problem is I'm sure the color would scratch off since it probably is just a paint job and not an actual plastic/metal of that color.
15I love my pink DS!
16I always get my gadgets in blue, but if a blue model isn't available, I settle for blue cases.
