Although I've listed tons of new case options, there are still some of you that want something specific. Take Geek reader millarci, for example, when she wrote in to ask about which iPhone 3G case she should invest in:

I'm in the market for an iPhone 3G case. I prefer something clear, but want something that will protect my iPhone 3G from scratches, smudges, etc. So far, I'm leaning towards the Contour Flick, which seems to be a best-seller on the apple website. Any ideas?
To see what I suggest, just read more.
Although the Contour Flick is a top seller on the Apple website, its reviews have been less than stellar. I personally picked up the Griffin Nu Form in white (pictured above), and it has been awesome. Not only does the Nu Form have a protective yet streamlined hard shell, it also comes stocked with a clear face cover so you can keep scratches off your screen. It never fails that I'll toss my keys into the designated "gadget compartment" of my bag and scratch up my goodies, but not with this bad boy.
An alternative to a case is a clear skin. Be warned that applying them can be a bit time consuming (getting all the corners and ends to match up), but I can attest that The Best Skin Ever (yup, that's the name) totally rocks! I've had one on my iPod for a while and recently slapped one on my iPhone to test it out. They've felt completely protected ever since. But of course, I think dropping my phone with just the skin to protect it would still cause my heart to skip a beat!
I hope these suggestions help, and let millarci know which case you use in the comments below!

I have this case in Black. It's awesome but the main shell will still break if dropped, already on case #2
1We just got one of these yesterday and ordered two more. I should have a full review in a week or so:

2I (and everyone else I know that has an Iphone) have the InCase Protective Cover.
It doesn't stretch out (I even keep my gym card inside of it!), it protects the iphone (says 3 5 ft. drops from treadmill to floor), has great traction (if you put it on your dashboard, it doesn't slide), and it comes in lots of cute colors and has a unique pattern on the back (apple has 3 colors, best buy has even more)
It does not have a protective cover for the face, but it's lip/wraparound seems to protect that well enough.
Definitely a cover that gets recommended throughout my circle of people.

3JenBrett, have you found that it scratches the casing at all? My bf bought a hard case for his touch and it scratched it, right after putting it on. I know the back is different on the 3G, but I'd think plastic would be easier to scratch, therefore I've gone w/a Belkin silicone sleeve in black/infrared. So far I like it.

4i got my little marware cutie from a book store and it's perfect. white, durable and keeps my baby damage free! i even put my apple sticker on the back of it. still there!

6It's like a screen protector but for your ENTIRE phone. It's military grade material, so it won't scratch. Check out the short video on the main page.
I did get 2 scratches on the sides, very small. But I think it's from sand, I took the Jeep out on the beach a few days after putting it on and when I pulled it off, scratch. But I never take it off so, not too big a deal for me
7I don't have the 3G, but I love my Agent 18 Eco Case (they make it for the 3G). I have it in black and I think it does a great job. Plus, it's made from recycled materials so you can feel good about it!
8I have the Agent 18 clear case for the regular iphone (they also make it for the 3g too!
The best part, IMO - is that you can leave the top on and just remove the bottom for docking - and you can still use the plug when the case is on.
Although I wouldn't recommend spending too much on cases - after a few months of being over protective of my iphone, I now let it swim free in my pocket (it goes in the case if I put it in my purse).
It should be available at any apple store, as well as online other places.

10I have the griffin nu form in white like the one above and I LOVE IT! i just don't know how to get rid of some of the bubbles on the screen. any suggestions?
11my boyfriend has the contour flip case and loves it. he has it in black. minimal bulk, it has a little part that flips open so you can put it into your docking stations without taking it out of the case.
12I have to admit, it looks pretty sleek. I'd go for that case, GeekSugar. It won't survive a massive fall, but it does the job without looking super ugmo.
He also bought a mate-finish screen protector, which protects the screen and reduces glare.
He bought both the case and screen protector from the apple store!
I would really love to have a case I can clip to my pants, for when I go on walks with my dogs. It's so much easier.
13I agree KristinDaBomb, I've seen cases w/clips, but what I miss more so than a clip is a wrist strap. I used that all the time on my old phone.
