Finally! So, it looks like HTC's Dream — aka the first cell phone to use Google's awesome-looking Android platform — is going to become a reality: the
FCC has approved it!

The promises of Android are tempting enough to make me consider giving up my iPhone (well, add it to my cell phone collection maybe) — the shortlist of features includes WiFi, 3G, and Bluetooth — and check out this walkthrough video for more. Considering it's being made by HTC, whose quickly building its reputation for good-lookin' phones, the pot gets even sweeter.
But what do you think: Is this a phone that will rival your lust for iPhones and BlackBerrys?

better than iphones & blackberrys!
1Why iPhone? Why Blackberry? Why Android?
2I want phone with Windows Mobile 6.1.
I cant wait to see what it looks like and what it comes with, not sure i'd give up my iphone?
31,700 apps and counting... that's what it's all about, right? Plus, I like the little robot. But I need a new phone now! Hopefully Android really will come out this year.
4I dont have an iphone or a blackburry, but I might get an android.
5I'm excited to see what it looks like in person, but I fear what the price tag maybe on it XD
6Same here dthatcher, I want windows mobile (I heart palm treos).
7too bad i bet it wont be for my provider
8I'm excited, I love anything open source.
9I'm very interested in android, but completely non fussed about these "htc, iphone, nokia, etc" pieces of **** they keep putting out. Take a look at the wholesale chinese market, and waht they are designing. At least you can find something different to suit your tastes at 1/4 the cost with all the same features!
Ill be interested in working getting android onto my new *chinese wholesale no name brand* phone, as android and the philosophy interest me.

Are you serious dthatcher and pinkmystic? Why? IMHO Windows Mobile is awful. Terrible. I just got rid of my Windows Mobile smartphone and boy, I don't miss that thing. It crashed all the time and the e-mail and browsing on it is Mickey Mouse stuff compared to the iPhone and the Android.
I'm not convinced the iPhone is the best thing ever, but I'm pretty sure Windows Mobile is about the worst.
11I'll have to see what T-Mo is offering by way of handsets and the prices before I give up my N95.
