Part of a self-made objects book, published by Roger Ibars, the gun controlling alarm clock is part of a collection of artifacts and products that "derive pleasure from themselves." Implicit in this premise is that the user is removed from the equation and that the product in question interacts with its own functions. The series includes an alarm clock that will wake up itself before waking up you, a selfish keyboard that will remove all the keys except the ones that tells you its name (qwerty) and a kitchen scale will turn itself over and enjoys its own weight.

The alarm clock is controlled by a light game gun that has been retrofitted with a few tilt switches. You can shoot off a few rounds instead of pressing the snooze button and the gun can also be angled and tilted to control other functions of the clock like setting the time and alarms.

I just don't think it's wise to have a gun toy.
1That's a little too much for me
2good for lazies...
3I don't like all the gun stuff that's been going on lately- jewelry, bags, now this. I know that some of it is an artistic statement or whatever but I just don't feel like it is OK. Guns are not toys or decoration.
4My boyfriend would love this
lol. x
5Not a fan of guns...however, I think this is pretty funny. Maybe because I hate mornings.
6I think it's just a bad idea.
7While I very much would like to shoot my alarm clock in the morning, I think this trend towards promoting gun use is irreponsible. I mean, some kid could see this in your bedroom and think it's cool to shoot your alarm clock (not realizing it's a toy) and then find Mommy or Daddy's gun at home and try to do the same thing with disastrous results. Just not a good idea.
8it looks like fun, but to be honest, I don't want some big ugly gun next to my bed. kinda ruins the whole mood in my room. lol.
9I love it, I want it. If people are worried about their children being exposed to guns... it's already happened. Try talking to them rather than condemning an alarm clock.
