I know sites need their "down time" just like anything else, but don't you find it infuriating when you need to get on Bloglines to check your RSS feeds or you want to see what your friend are up to thanks to Twitter and you can't? As soon as I hit refresh and realize the site is either down due to a flood of traffic or for maintenance, I get a feeling of panic and keep hitting refresh over and over. Thankfully the Internet is full of distractions, so I can usually divert my ADD on something else until the site is back up. What about you? How do you cope with website "down time"?

well, after i'm done hyperventilating i usually try to find another site to visit. i normally have 50 million windows and tabs open anyway so i just click over to something else until that site is back up.
I check with http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ to see if it's down or just me -- which a couple of times, it's just me and my crappy connection. I'd have three options on reaction: 1. I'd find a similar site and peruse that 2. I'd go download free e-books or music or 3. (What I least often but sometimes do) Turn off the comp and do homework.
I pound the desk and scream. Or I go to get a glass of water/cup of tea and hope that by the time I'm back it's fixed.
Move on. Unless I really need the site for something. That's when I refresh the page like crazy hoping it comes back. haha.
I don't stress it. I just refresh the page once or twice. And if it still says the same after a few minutes then I just move on and then come back in while. Every website needs it's down time for matainence or if they are trying out a new design or features.
Thanks for the website Bisque!!
Get pissed off!
that's life. i keep moving and try back later. i hate when it's the bank or a site that requires using account info, but what can you do.
I usually try and fix it, cause its usually one of mine going down! lol
move on
Refresh again... and again... and again....
er... you know, a feeling of panic when a website goes down isn't, er, normal...
I think I'll be okay as long the Sugar site doesn't do that to us.
I refresh 2-3 times then leave it if nothing happens (and check back later)
I stare at the fail whale. It's such a nice illustration.
Usually I just go do something else and try back in a few minutes
LOL @ Calamari.
