Do you love the smell of old leather-bound books? Would you rather curl up with a book then pop open your Macbook for a late night reading session? I came across Fullbooks.com, a site where you'll find thousands of full-text free books online. Pretty cool, but I just don't know how I feel about sitting at my computer and reading a book when I'm at my computer all day. What are your thoughts?

I love books, there's something about holding it, flipping through the pages, getting to put it down for a while and forget it and always go back to it whenever you feel.
It seems like having a book on a computer is making something that's so simple (movable type, thanks Guttenberg!) into something that requires more than the ability to read to enjoy it.
And it'd be terrible for your eyes.
1I agree completely with StefaPie - there's just something about holding the book in your hand and having that freedom.
2NO WAY! I look at a computer screen reading stuff all day at work! I do like audio books. They are fun to listen to in traffic. And if you don't have time to sit down and read that book that just came out by your fav author..you can multi-task by listening to it in car as you run errands, drive to work, etc.

Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?
one of my text books is online and I hate it
4I like to read in bed- don't see watching a book as the same.
5Also- I look at computers all day, too.

I completely agree. I love taking a book with me to read a little bit here and there.. so much more relaxing then gazing into a bright computer screen.
6I read books online when work is really slow. But it's difficult and never the same as the real thing.
7I love books and more importantly browsing around book shops. I spend all day at work in front of a computer screen (and as you can see a good chunk of my evening too!) so I can't imagine reading books online.
8It wouldn't be my first choice to read books online, but that free word is very tempting. Plus, I spend so much time staring at the screen as it is, what's another hour or so?
9I used to read books online at work, it looked like i was working.
10I love to read but can't stand sitting at the computer that long and printing it out takes to long. I had to read a book online for class a few years ago--it was an out of print book so the teacher sent us all a pdf, and my eyes were in so much pain. It's also harder to keep your place if you get distracted or look away for a second.

12ugh- they dont even have any GOOD books. only old ones and obscure ones. i guess its a place for failed authors to make one last feeble attempt to show their published works to the world.
anyway - cant they get in trouble for this?
My college online library has so many books, fiction, bestsellers, textbooks and even kids books. And it's all free. I think it's fantastic. Very useful.
