i thought about it, since i like to read so much, but then with the kindle, you can only buy certain books. i'd rather look online thru my computer and go thru it. a wider range that i can choose from. and i do like having a actual book in my hand. only occasionaly will i download a book from online.

I actually bought an audible book. There was a brand new book I wanted to read by my favorite author and it was only out in Hardback. Unfortunately my budget wouldn't allow for me to buy a brand-new, hardback book, so I found it on Audible and listened to it

I listen to audiobooks form iTunes and LibriVox at work all the time. I actually think that if I had this, I would read more.

I haven't bought one because I cannot stand reading them. I used to edit for an epublisher (which went under), so now whenever I try reading one, I want to edit it.

I have bought a few e-books, but when it comes to books, I'm an old-fashioned gal. I love the small of books, collecting them, reading them over and over, turning the pages. Kindle and other modern conveniences can't take that away.

I don't like Kindle but I guess I should since one of my friends works on developing the damn thing. I love the smell of books though and I don't think I want to give that up.

I love a good story, but I find it really hard to purchase books because I tend to only read them once, after which they just collect dust in a closet somewhere. My local library doesn't have that great of a selection, unfortunately for me... So I'm thinking I'd really like to get a Kindle (or something similar) eventually, maybe when they come out with the next model. I'm wary of buying this first edition, since based on the reviews it has some bothersome design flaws. But the concept is great and I see myself getting in on it in a couple of years.

I love the classic books better. I ve only turned to ebooks when i broke my leg last summer and i coudnt go to the library. i borrowed books from the library online it was great.

I've never bought one. But who knows, I might one day if the reviews are good and it looks to have a great plot.

i'm still addicted to the feel of the page in my hands. and the way a book smells. an ebook can't do that for me. but i will eventually get a reader and make the switch.

I'd prefer to hold a book and read off paper. I don't like reading off a screen all the time.

Call me old fashion, but I don't think I will ever give in to eBooks. I think the only good purpose they could serve is for students, so they don't have to carry all those heavy books to class. I love reading a good BOOK. I can't snuggle up on a sofa and read off a Kindle. Just would feel weird.

I never will. It's just big and odd looking. I would much rather risk the paper cuts and stick with the paper and ink versions!

Yes- While I'll never give up a traditional book, they are super convenient. I'm a total book juggler (I keep 3-4 going at once.) This way, if I'm waiting in a queue or just llunching by myself, I can whip out the palm and have book (with bookmark!)

I'm never, ever giving up real books.
Not only do I like the look and feel of a book, but I also like collecting them too. Downloading a book doesn't really allow for that.

And that Kindle is an eyesore, sorry to say.

There's an eBook reader i am looking into purchasing later this summer since i just got a bunch of free eBooks. We are trying to get rid of an enormous shelf of fantasy books and just use this one eBook reader for them (and other books, too) before we move again.

When an ebook reader comes out that is two touch screens so I can hold it like a real book, I might consider it. I'm still bothered by the price and limited selection of ebooks and my library doesn't have a program for them yet. If I'm going to switch over I don't want to still have to buy a lot of books that aren't in ebook format.

After a while, I get tired of reading on a screen, and I can't focus on longer sections as a time. If it's something quick, like an article, I'll read it on a computer, but I really doubt I could do that with a book. Having worked in libraries for five years, I am partial to the touch and weight of a regular book. I do use LibriVox sometimes at work to listen to books at work, but I still prefer physical books.

I have been reading a few though, I found www.booksinmyphone.com that gives away books that run like a cell phone game. It's pretty neat - a good reading experience and if you have a data plan / internet on your phone then you can browse, choose, download, and start reading all from your phone within about 30 seconds. It's the free Kindle you already own - all they need to do is expand their range of books.
