George Loves His Tango, I Love George

Oh, that lucky girl Bella. Not only did she putt putt around town in a Smart car for a day, but she had my new eco crush George Clooney in tow! I knew Mr. Clooney had a soft spot for eco friendly cars, but I didn't know he could be spotted around LA driving an all electric Tango . . . at least until his hot new Tesla gets delivered.

His three-year-old compact one-seater is small enough to park in the tightest of spots, and apparently goes from 0 to 60 in four seconds! That's pretty darn fast, but not as fast as my heartbeat after seeing him in this photo. So dapper, so earth friendly, so freaking hot!

It looks ridiculous to some people because we, as Americans, are so used to over sized, gas-guzzling SUV's. Take a trip to Europe and you will see these cars everywhere. They are not ridiculous...they are smart, especially if you live in a city.

I fell in love with Smart Cars when I studied abroad in Italy and this is a similar idea, only electric? I'm in love!

I agree with Samnella, but I must point out that the thought of such a car being "ridiculous" comes into play when I consider all of the HUGE cars on the road. It's sensible and cost effective and great for the environment, but is it safe to drive around in such a tiny vehicle when most of the other cars are SUVs? Especially in LA, I'd be scared (I already am and I drive a Prius!)

totally agree, jasmint! I would love a mini, or even one of these cars, but driving a teeny car in a city of range rovers gets nerve-wracking.

Wow...that car is unattractive, and that's the nicest I can put that.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We have been taught that bigger is better. I think it is a beautiful car, especially because of what it represents.

Samnella I'm not American and I don't live in the states. I have a small car and a bicycle which I ride to work (so you certainly don't have to lecture me about being eco friendly). I STILL think the car looks ridiculous.
