Haven't we all been in the movies, enjoying our tub of popcorn, when the jerk in front of you lets his cell phone ring and ring? And then to your shock and horror, he has the nerve to answer it?! And what about when you are strolling the aisles of Target, having a fine time picking out cotton swabs, when a fellow shopper is practically yelling into your ear on her cell about her sister's roommate's boyfriend's divorce? Don't even get me started on folks at the gym, gabbing away as you elliptical, miserably, next to them.
We have all been there, and the best thing to do when you have a rant is to share it. That's why I've created a new geek group, just for venting your stories about someone who pissed you off by either answering their phone at an inappropriate place or time, or someone who TMI'd you at great volume. I missed the end of "No Country for Old Men" because some jacka$$ answered his phone in the theater, and then proceeded to have a conversation in his seat. Full volume. For the second time since the movie started. My boyfriend and I were in shock. We had to go home and look up what the Tommy Lee's dreams meant online!
1These days, it seems that everywhere I look there is someone talking on his or her cell phone. The train on my way to work is literally full of people jabbing away on their cell phones. I usually don't mind if they're speaking in a low volume, but when they're shouting at the person they are speaking to or talking at a movie theater or restaurant, then that is just plain rude. I often don't use my cell phone in places I know people want to have a quiet meal or watch a movie. In those venues, I'd rather send and receive text message. My BB's text ding is fairly quiet, so only I could hear it.
2i usually study on the bus ride to school, so it is especially annoying when someone's cell dings really loudly every few minutes when there is a text message!!! makes me so mad. gawd i hate cell phones!
3I like it when they talk on their phones next to me at the gym... gives me some entertainment!
In the movie theatre, less so. ;p
4don't you love it when they tell the person on the phone "I'm at the movies" but somehow this doesn't make the person on the other end say oh sorry. they ask how the movie is instead >.

7Someone always manages to let their cell phone go off every Sunday...IN CHURCH.
8The only time it bothers me is in the movie theatre or on the plane (waiting to pull into the gate).
