I think its kitsch and sort of cute in a retro style. If the lamps are manufactured from recycled tapes, are they making sure the information on the tape spools are actually erased prior to assembly? Could you imagine a lamp filled with psychiatry patient recording, top secret corportate info, or university lecture notes? Could prove for an interesting and disturbing conversation piece in the household. Just image all the secrets that could be locked away in your new household accent.

Just something to think about before you either buy the lamp or try recycling your evidence.
