It started with the Atari. It took a few tries to get my little hands and thumbs acquainted with the controller, but once I got a taste of Pong, it was all over. The original NES, Gameboys, Super NES, Sega, Playstation, the DS, the Wii — I've plugged an impressive array of consoles into my TV (or slipped the portables into my bag).

Even though I don't feel that I have brand loyalty to any particular gaming company, it's a fact that I've owned five different Nintendo consoles. I do tend to love Nintendo, but I love any console that's fun and works well. But what about you? Do you tend to stick to Sony and get PlayStations, or are you strictly a Nintendo-head, or something else?

Net-a-Porter

I like to follow the good RPG games. I love Square Enix.
1I'm loyal to the games I like. A lot of those games are made by Nintendo, but I also love series by Capcom, Square-Enix, Techmo and Grasshopper. So it doesn't matter which system I buy, as long as the games I want are there.
2xbox 360 is our household favorite
3Nintendo all the way!
4I'm loyal, but not exclusive, to Nintendo. I also like the Xbox for hacking and the Xbox360 for gaming. I'm holding out on a PS3 though, since I dislike Sony and don't find the PS3 games worth it yet.
5I tend to stick to what (I feel) is the best console producer at the time. I used to love Sony and had a psone, PS2 and PSP but at the moment I'm favoring Nintendo and have a DS Lite and a Wii. I've never had an inclination towards Xbox (although i played on my brothers recently and discovered it was brilliant for racing car games).
6I'm mostly a PC gamer myself. Commander Keen! Jill of the Jungle! Monster Bash! Doom! Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force! City of Heroes! Nibbles!
My only console is a PS2 (Final Fantasy! Tekken!) but I'll play Tetris on anything!
7I have had all the Nintendo systems, but my family (meaning my brother has bought but i've played, too) has also had all the Playstation systems.
8The consoles I have owned in order are: Super Pong, Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Gamecube, XBox, Nintendo Wii
Sprinkled in there are PC gaming systems: 486SX 25, Pentium II 300 Laptop, Pentium III 550, Pentium IV 3.2 Ghz.
All of the PC's have also been used for game development. I find creating games to be just as entertaining as playing them.
As you can see though I have flip-flopped between game consoles and PC's for gaming. And I haven't exactly been brand loyal. Mostly because of changes within the game console market.
I am currently debating between getting a Playstation 3 and and XBox 360. There just aren't any games out there yet for these systems that make me feel like owning one is worth the upfront cost.
I thought Halo 3 might be that game for XBox 360, but I borrowed my little bro's 360 when the game came out and ended up beating it in 2 days of casual playing. So it was very anticlimactic for me.
I need that Epic game, that I would need at least a couples weeks to complete, that has a payoff worth that kind of time investment. And I am NOT into the GTA series at all. Where is KOTOR 3?
9I have a tendency to go in phases. I grew up with a NES in the house, but later graduated to PlayStation when I hit high school and it continued through university. After graduating, the Nintendo Gamecube and the Xbox found their ways into my house. After moving to Japan, I added a DS Lite to the mix and purchases a Japanese playstation 2. Basically I go with the platform with the most interesting games, but recently all the platforms have caught my interest. I'm itching to buy a Wii and a PSP.
10i've never met an xbox that i liked, but every other console is all good.
11I prefer Nintendo and Playstation although Xbox has some nice titles.
12I buy them all... LOL.
It goes back to Atari, my husband had Turbografx (both portable and console), then we had nintendo, super nintendo (because I didn't have it growing up, the husband got it for me later because I wanted Super Mario 3, lol), Nintendo 64 (because of Zelda), Gamecube, Wii -- and then of course the gameboys, gameboy colors and now the DS's (my husband, myself and the kiddo each have one).
We also have the PSone, the PS2, Sega Genesis, the PSP (the husband and the kiddo each have one) and... I think that's it.
For Christmas we're buying the Xbox (arcade version) for the kiddo. We've been hemming and hawing over the PS3 (we were buying the PS' the day they were coming out) but the price is just really high.
13Eventually I get them all LOL. I generally don't buy a console until there are quite a few games I'd like to play in their lineup. That means that I tend to wait at least a year to buy a console after it's first come out.
It's all about the games. The PSOne and PS2 were my favorite consoles of the last two generations because they had so many rpgs. Now the PS3 looks to be the last of the current gen that I'll buy.
14My husband is devoted to the xbox. I could care less who makes it as long as they have the games I like. The games I like are more nintendo style.
15My heart belongs to Nintendo.
I have all the big consoles, the original GameBoy and plan
on buying a DS soon. I do have a XBox and like it but it's no Wii!
16When it comes to multiplatform games we go for XBox because we're achievement wh*res.
The Wii is for fun and (as soon as I get a Wii Fit) exercise.
The PS3....well its a glorified paperweight at this point. We bought it when it first came out but there aren't any great games for it. We keep is around for the bluray player.
17Only Nintendo.
18I love Nintendo, but I like the Sony Playstation and PSP too
19I've tried all of them, but my favorites are still N64 and SEGA!!
20Nintendo.
21i like mario so i'm nintendo baby
22I'm loyal to game franchises. I'm a Final Fantasy nerd, so I'll go with whatever they are on. I bought my PSP just so I could play Crisis Core (and boy and I glad that I did)!
However, one of my best friends just bought a Wii and that is quite a lot of fun. We like to play Wii sports, and she downloaded Mario 3, so I feel all nostalgic. lol
23It doesn't really matter to me as long as the console is fun. I tend to be more franchise oriented like Tennyo, I have every single Mario & Sonic game ever lol
24I am a solely Nintendo kinda girl. My heart belongs to Miyamoto.
25I like most any vintage console (go Odyssey!) and I'm not really loyal to one brand. I don't really like PlayStation though, and I never really bonded with my Sega Genesis so I never bought a Dreamcast.
26I pick which console to get based on the games I like, not who makes the console. That said, I've never owned an XBox because anything released for the XBox that I want to play is either released on another console as well, or released for the PC. I'm primarily a PC gamer anyway.
27I have only ever purchased a game system because of the games I can play on it. I follow Final Fantasy so I've owned an old school Nintendo and Super Nintendo Playstation one two and three. I also play Legend of Zelda so I have had a 64 a gamecube and a wii. I just can't get into x-box, although my husband is into it enough for both of us.
28anyone but Microsoft
