The newest version of Firefox was released yesterday, and Mozilla pushed to hit their Guinness World Record goal — so hard that they overloaded their servers in the morning, as some of you experienced when you tried to download it.
I'd been using the beta version of 3 for a while, and now that my essential add-ons work (trust me, once you get used to them, Colorful Tabs and FoxyTunes are necessities), I'm loving how quick it is.
So did you download it yesterday and contribute to the big, geeky goal?

I am required to enter the admin user name and password on my computer at work before I can install anything, so I haven't been able to install it yet.
2No, I downloaded it today (this morning CST) because it still counted. And three hours later had my first crash.
So far I am unimpressed. I know FF 3 was mainly for Macs, but I did a new install on a very clean (new) drive, and FF wouldn't install Quicktime. I had to go search it out.

I'm very impressed with the speed. I used to use Opera, but I don't think I'm ever going back. I'm not really digging the Colorful Tabs though, I like the classic gray.

8Opera 9.5 was released on Monday. If you have a whole bunch of FireFox extensions, I bet that most of them are already pre-installed with Opera.

17FF2 was constantly crashing so I had no choice. So far *knock on wood* alls good. I've not noticed increased fastness yet.
