Depending on my mood, I'll carry a laptop bag one day and then use a laptop sleeve the next. Sometimes it depends on how much is already in my purse and whether the sleeve and laptop can fit in there. Some days I curse my sleeves for making my bag so heavy, and some days I don't want to carry a whole extra bag.

One thing a girl can't complain about: the variety. You can go custom, like with this sleeve, and laptop bags in general are starting to branch out in designs, like this bag from J. Crew. I can't decide which way I prefer to tote around my laptop, but can you?
And don't get me started on letting it go naked!

I have this really great plain black coach bag for my laptop. Its holds it very nice and snug but also has room for other stuff!!!
I am all about the flair, so what ever suits my mood for the day is it.
I'm still using the black Coach Hamptons laptop bag I got 7 years ago. Love it.
Laptop bag, usually. I have a large collection, some big enough for multiple laptops (which gets really heavy...I should look into getting an Air :S)
i use my purses as laptop bags all the time so i use a sleeve and a laptop bag. i think you need both. as long as you don't go naked!
I use a neoprene skin and I've found they're the best for my needs. They slip easily into my purse or backpack and add almost no extra weight. It's just easiest.
I actually have the green jcrew that you have posted above. I love it. works great with my life and my macbook!
It's super easy to find laptop bags/sleeves for my 14" laptop, but I also have a 17" laptop, and it's really hard to find cute bags/sleeves for it. Help!!
I've been on the market for the perfect laptop sleeve forever for my mac...I have lots of purses with perfect slots for it, but I'd prefer to have it in a sleeve to prevent it from getting banged up with the constant transferring and toting around...
i use my marc jacobs backpack for a laptop bag, and a sleeve for my laptop. a fall on the bike can do some major damage to me and my laptop, so i am careful! the more padding, the better!
Laptop bag
I have this amazing red patent Liz Claiborne laptop tote with matching red sleeve for my laptop when I'm feeling glam, but most of the time, I use the sleeve with my black skully messenger bag. In any case, my gadgets are always protected
I'm always on the hunt for the "perfect" laptop bag I have three and I like to switch them out from time time all depends on what I have to carry aong with my LT files, books etc.
both.
and i really like the j.crew bag
I like laptop bags better. That way I can carry more things with it. Like a small notepad in a side pocket or pens.
a cheap grocey bag will do. wahaha...
I have sort of the best of both. My laptop bag is pretty thin so it could be a sleeve, but its got a nice carrying handle and extra pockets too for the power cord and a few CD's. It's a Juicy Couture and its really cute!
i use a sleeve even when i put my laptop in my laptop bag, although i usually end up putting my sleeve in my regular backpack.
i like the sleeves, but then again, my sleeve has handles and i hate carrying the extra extension. i would hate carrying a bigger laptop bag because i dont want to be carrying an extra bag.
in the end i'd say a sleeve, even if it adds weight of i have to carry a smaller second bag, i'd rather small extra bag to carry than something big.
I like the sleek look of sleeves, but they're just not as easy to carry around as laptop bags. Plus, I feel that laptop bags give my laptop better protection instead of slipping it in a sleeve and throwing it in whatever giant purse I happen to be carrying that day.
I like bags because whenever I use my laptop unless it's just to check my e-mail (but, that's what my iphone is for) I always end up using a ton of accessories.
Both
i have both but i rarely use my bag. my sleeve has a handle so whenever its straining my back i just carry it. and i always put my cords in a separate little travel bag with all my other cords and ipod/phone chargers...
I like the laptop bag because I want to carry my laptop without using my usual backpack. But ummm... I still want that laptop sleeve though.
I have a wonderful Maddie Powers laptop bag that I carry to work, but at home I put my laptop in a sleeve. I store my laptop under the coffee table because I don't have a desk, so the sleeve is nice for at-home protection.
i don't need to carry much in my backpack, maybe one textbook and some papers so i just throw my laptop into a sleeve
