With all the hubbub of lovely Leo getting cast as Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari, I'm hoping that this is the herald for Hollywood movies about Silicon Valley denizens. Thankfully, this Leo flick sounds more compelling than Josh Hartnett's August, and I think it's because this is a biopic. I want to see the history of tech, not a total dramatization.
When I think of what stories I'd really like to see played out on the big screen, I of course think of my Steves. I want to see the fashionista Jobs and the ladies' man Wozniak as young ones creating an empire and all the ups and downs in doing so. Someone thought Noah Wylie would be a good Jobs, but I disagree — I'd like to see someone a little more dynamic announce iPhone 3G's and such. I've got a few suggestions for actors below, but let me know who you'd think would make the best silver-screen Steve!

Soft Grey
Sofa Workshop
Minnetonka
ed norton looks just like him. and he's a really great actor.
1Ed Norton!!!
2Definitely Ed Norton! Ashton Kutcher is not a good actor.
3Ed Norton
4i don't know who most of those people are and you didn't put names next to the pics. so, i'm going to fall in rank here and say ed norton?
5ed norton!
6Vern Troyer!
7This is ridiculous...Steve Jobs will always be Noah Wyle for me...from Pirates of Silicon Valley
8I think Jason Bateman looks the most like him.
9I truly liked Noah Wylie's depiction of S. Jobs.
Ed Norton is a good actor, he can pull anything off, so I'd vote for him. But I would still prefer Wylie's performance.
10I think Ryan Gosling would do a great job. He has this sort of cool, calm confidence about him, and can make you excited for something without trying too hard. Perfect Steve, i think.
11i don't see a huge need for an apple movie, but as long as we're playing this game....
What about
Ryan Reynolds
George Clooney
Jeff Bridges
Liev Schreiber
Matthew Fox
Also, ashton kutcher is a good actor. just saw "what happens in vegas" - it was hilarious and his performance was great. just don't see him playing steve jobs.
ed norton is a great actor, but i don't see him in this role either.
12Noah Wylie is too old to play a young Steve now. I think Edward Norton would be the best choice too. He can mold himself to fit just about any role and he's a fantastic actor.
13who is the dude with the apple? he looks like Steve. i like seeing more of jason bateman, so i'd maybe pick him. Ryan gosling might be a bit too short?!
14That's young Steve, tdamji!
15Steve Jobs was (and still is) kind of cute.
16I think Nathan Fillion (the doctor from "Waitress").
17OMG I had no idea that the guy with the apple was actually Steve Jobs. He actually was kinda cute!
Ashton Kutcher would be the only horrible fit from that list. I know he's a totally legit actor but every time I look at him all I can think is "Kelso."
I voted for Ed Norton because he is hot. He's so cute.
18Ed Norton!
19ed norton DEFINITELY.
20oh, whoops! shows how much i am paying attention.
umm...young steve looks just like
steve jobs! ha!
21I thought about this further (it's a slow day, haha) and besides Edward Norton, I think Christian Bale would be fantastic.
22Noah Wyle was brilliant as Jobs in ‘Pirates of Silicon Valley’, so he’ll always get my vote.
23Stephen Colbert!
24Jason Bateman would be ok, but what about Jerry O'Connell? I think he would be the perfect fit. He is a wonderful blend of Geek and Chic.
25Am I the only one who likes Ashton Kutcher for this? I think he looks a lot like Young Steve, especially in the two photos you put up, and he has that kind of playful, young thing going on. And lol @ menthadict.
26whoa steve jobs was hot
27i picked Ed Norton , but the other names people mentioned would work better - Christian Bale, Nathan Fillion and Matthew Fox.
No thanks to Ashton, there are always better actors out there, he can stick to his usual roles.
28Ed Norton - best actor in the group.
29I really do like Jason Bateman though.
I
30Oops. I hit post too soon. I love Jason Bateman and I think he looks the most like Steve.
31I honestly dont know Steve Jobs personality. If he's quirky then I would say Bateman for sure. But if he is just like a normal guy with a sorta funny sense of humor, then Ed.
I voted for Ed cause he seemed the most capable.
32Ed Norton is an awesome actor but Ryan Gosling would be better because he's younger. Steve is 55 and Norton is 48. I think someone has to be younger to play Steve when he first founded Apple. I think he was around 22 at the time.
33Owwwwww, young Jobsies is a babe!
34I agree that since ed norton is older, this doesnt make him the best candidate. and i think that although he is a great actor, he's prolly too serious for this role.
I like jason bateman. he kind of reminds me of him. They'd need to dye his hair or use a wig.
steve jobs was cute when he was young. bummer. jajaja
35ADAM SCOTT! please google him and tell me he doesnt look like steve jobs jajajaj . omg.

36Um, hello? EDWARD NORTON! God I love him!
37Noah WylE
38SO WE AGREE
39Anyone by Ryan Gosling, yuck. Kayla, I was thinking of Nathon Fillion, too! I voted for Jason Bateman, he seems very much the right choice.
40While I think Aston's looks are closest, I want to see Ryan Gosling in this role. I can't get enough of that kid!
41Noah Wyle was awesome! I cannot see someone else in Steve's skin.
42Ed Norton isn't 48 - he's 38.
43Oops! Meant 38. If he was 48 he would look pretty damn good. Sorry. Jason Bateman would be good too. I liked him in Juno
44Aaron Eckhart, fine actor and the guy just looks like Steve Jobs.
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm73766400/nm0001173
here with an iBook…
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm995399680/nm0001173
45So sorry for the double-post, newbie here… just want to add besides all that Aaron Eckhart was born in…
Cupertino, California, where Apple's HQ is located.
I sort of win.
46after seeing ryan goslings performance in "half nelson" and then "lars and the real girl" i think he would be perfect for the job.
47edward norton is sooo hot!!!
48I love Ed Norton. He is soooo good.
