Hand-Painted Bluetooth Earpieces: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

Jun 5 2008 - 4:00pm

Seller Indigo Daydreams [1] has found her geekery niche on Etsy: She paints Bluetooth earpieces (most of them seem to be old Plantronics [2] 220s) from dull black plastic to whimsical, colorful little tchotchkes, like this teal polka-dot number [3].

Now, to be delicate here. . . . The 'tooth was pretty ugly before, but I am not sure it looks much better in the afterlife. Maybe it's because I've gotten used to thinking that sleek designs like the Jawbone [4] are the name of the game.

But maybe I'm too safe in my choices — I also shied away a little from those customizable Jabra earpieces [5], so clearly I'm not the right audience. Are you?
