Microsoft's desperation to compete with Google has resulted in them offering to pay you to use their search engine. For using Microsoft's search to find products to buy, users would be reimbursed 2 to 5 percent, if the store were participating, of course. Online retailers like eBay and Home Depot have already signed up for Live Search cashback, as it's called.
I already use eBates, which does pretty much the same as what Live Search cashback will do, and even if I didn't, I wouldn't stop Googling. Two percent of my online purchases - which don't make up that much of my personal search activity anyway - is just not a replacement for the quality of the search results. But what about you? Would you switch to Microsoft search if you were paid?

1I guess it depends on how much micro would pay me. I ♥ Google and use it at LEAST once a day so it would be a hard change for me!
2i use blingo because i can win stuff even if i'm not search shopping. but blingo is powered by google, msn live, yahoo and ask. so i get all the results in one place and a chance to win crap. i've won 4 times now.
3If they're only going to pay me if I buy something then I don't think so. However, I like the sites everyone else is mentioning too!

7I'm obsessed with ebates! I've banked almost $300 since I signed up... there's no reason not to use it and there's no way i would stop googling.

11That's pathetic, and sort of useless - there are already plenty of sites that you can buy through to be reimbursed of a percentage of the total. For a search engine, I need something fast and reliable, so I'm sticking to Google!

16I'm sorry, but don't get me started on how wrong it is that M$ is trying to buy people over to their crappier services, cause I don't like to badmouth people, even corporate bigwigs. Don't get me wrong, Microsoft makes some good products, like the XBox/XBox 360, but they also make some really, really poor ones (for example, Windows ME *shudder*), and, in my opinion, it's clear that Google is superior to MSN Live Search, and no amount of money they try to throw at me is going to change my opinion on this.
