Remember Glamour Shots? The beyond cheesy photography sessions at your local mall that took you from sweatpants victim to vixen with a tube of lipstick, a boa, and a soft-focus camera lens?
It's thankfully gone the way of Clear Pepsi and died with the '80s. But the idea at its core was a valid one: Sometimes we want to dress up and take pictures of ourselves looking like hot pinups. Samantha Jones did it for herself, J.Lo did it for Ben Affleck, and now you can do it — tastefully!
La Photique specializes in "vintage glamour photography" and will provide hair, makeup, outfits, and photography to make you into a playful, vintagey boudoir girl ala Rita Hayworth here (not a nudie bordello dweller). The packages run about $500-$1,000, but I think they'd make an excellent wedding gift for your groom, or if you are the groom, for your bride — which would be totally selfish. But fabulous.

I have to say that I know people who still do Glamour Shots. But these look much better! Love the vintage Old Hollywood look.
1neat!
2i would love to do this for my hun bun
That would be a lot of fun!
3i have always loved these types of photo shoots. they have them at the amusement park by my house. i'm actually doing a huge photo shoot for my birthday this year and maybe i'll include a va va voom photo! ahaha.
4i think these are really classy and very romantic. where would you put this, though? i could see it being cool if your lover travels a lot and could take it in a frame with him/her, but if it is going to be in the house - would it not be a bit weird?
5I know people who still do glamour photos. EEK!! I think these look really classy and beautiful. We wouldn't have anywhere to display them. I wouldn't be a Gabby (desperate housewives) and have pictures of myself all over the walls.
6I've done boudoirs for myself, pre-marriage (and then again while pregnant.) To answer your question, tdamji, mine just stay in their archival folder hidden away from the world. When my husband goes on deployment, he can take a CDrom with them.
7Every realtor I've ever met had glamour shots done for their business card photos!
I think these are classy though.
8kewl....
9I would totally do this!
10I would love to do this if I had the money.
11I would do this if they were near me.
12I work for a photographer who does "boudoir" photos.
13They're so classy & beautiful!
I'd do it for a gift if I didn't work for him. haha!
We make these albums that are just amazing!
Glamour Shots- I remember we had to vote on new union reps at work a few years ago. One person submitted an old pic of herself that was obviously from Glamour Shots- big hair, way too much makeup, and the ever-present gauzy shawl around the bare shoulders.
They voted her in! Arrrgh!
14Oh that's a cool idea.
15I don't like normal glamour shots... my aunt had some a few years back and they are gaudy and has layers of makeup on.
I like these b/c they are vintage looking and Old Hollywood Glamour style
