How To: Change Your Desktop Icons
Pasting. . .
Either click Edit + Paste or Command + V to paste the new icon!
The icons will immediately change in your folders and on your desktop, but you'll need to restart your computer to see the changes in your doc if you are a Mac user!

Cute idea. I hate the same old boring things.
1I don't have any icons on my desktop. My wallpaper is too pretty
2what about windows people? I've learned its impossible to change any of the My Documents, My Pictures, My Music ect folders to anything (only shortcuts for them)
3you can also just drag drop your picture from the finder window on top of the existing icon, which changes it for you. Much easier.
In relation to windows... let me fire up parallels...
If you right click on your desktop and go to properties. Then the Desktop tab. Click Customize Desktop. Highlight which icon you want to change, click change icon.
It only comes up with two, but you can browse to any others you want. Bear in mind these cant change folders, so stick them somewhere on your C drive
