When I read this story on Lifehacker, I immediately got grossed out and bolted straight for the canned air and Clorox Wipes. Keep reading and you'll find out why.

A study conducted in a regular run of the mill London office concluded that the keyboards harbored more germs than a toilet seat and held 150 times the recommended limit of harmful bacteria. What's more, the mice were even dirtier! Ever wonder why office colds and flus travel around so quickly? Yeah, wonder no more. Let this be a gentle reminder to do the deed today, and keep doing it, cause I don't ever want to talk about this again.

I keep Clorox wipes at work for this purpose. But I probably should clean it more often than just the occasional wipe down.
1You're supposed to clean it?
2I just wait until I accidentally spill beer on it, then buy another one
i clean my mouse everyday because you just need to. i blow out and wipe down my keyboard and phone every week. again, cuz you just need too! i'm kind of a germaphobe.
3L love Colorox wipes and keep them at my desk and end of the week and clean not only my keyboard but my phone as well.
4when i remember. thanks for the reminder =]
5Ok, sad to say this, but though I was one of those who chose this option, but I was truly shocked to see that majority of the people who voted had never clean their keyboard before. Haha.
6I never clean my work one...
7I used to do it every day but I started coming off as a neat freak. I still clean my whole entire desk once a week, though.
8I clean my entire work area - desk, phone, computer/keyboard/mouse, cabinets, handles/knobs, etc. - at least once a week.
9I don't have a home computer, well I do but it doesn't have internet so I don't use it. But if I did, I would probably clean it once a week as well.
I do the Clorox Wipes once a week, but I'm thinking I'll switch to the Mrs. Meyers wipeys.
10Clorox and canned air? Can't get much more environ unfriendly than that! How about just a good upside down shake for the gunk in the keyboard and a wet cloth for a wipe down instead.
11I am a teacher and clean my classroom phone ALL THE TIME!!!I totally over looked my keyboard. I cleaned it after I read this post. Everyone knows high schoolers are walking viruses!
12I clean mine twice a week. It is so nasty to see some people's keyboard with crud.
13Three times a week. I have actually been limiting my computer usage so that I stop wasting energy just to cruise the net. So the three or so days that I turn it on- when I'm done I clean the keyboard monitor and CPU.
14wow, this photo reminds me of a keyboard and mouse one of my friends own... Needless to say, I don't use their computer!
I'm a clean-freak, and will take the keyboard apart to clean it (with Q-tips and Windex).
15I use the pressurized air can like every other day but never wipe it down. Now I am grossed out.
16The keyboards I use most are only mine, so I'm not exactly communicating germs through them. And, as I've seen pointed out elsewhere, not only are there bacteria everywhere, but also many, if not most, of the times people get sick it's from viruses, not bacteria.
So, no, I still don't worry about it much.
17When I used to have my White Macbook I would clean it all the time. But now I have a Black Gateway so I rarely do but I should.
18I'm extremely anal about keeping my keyboard clean. At home and at work, I keep alcohol wipes just for that purpose. I clean the one at home daily and at work a couple times a week. Probably should have been the other way around - but I'm the only one who uses both, so it's only my germs.
19I clean mine every time I see dirt on my keyboard.
20I clean my laptop once or twice a week
21I clean my work pc and keyboard daily just before I leave work while tidy-ing up my desk
I have to otherwise I know I'll get sick. I work all day on a computer than come home to one. At LEAST wash hands...
