I know that I'm lucky that I don't need a car and have to pay for gas — just last night, I sailed by a station in a taxi and my jaw dropped at the $4+ gas prices! I feel horrible for those of you receiving your tax rebates and having to spend it on gas. But if you're trying to drive less or like me, not driving at all, what are you going to spend your rebate on?
My shopping lists are usually filled with gadgets and their accessories anyway, so I've got my eye on some fun economic-boosters for when my check comes in. Things like new games or maybe a ridiculously-priced laptop bag. . . I don't know, but my rebate will probably get me closer to some tech-related stuff. What about you — new cell phone, TV, or maybe that Wii you really wanted?

I wish I could buy some gadgets! Or Wii games.
1we are doing home improvements- hopefully an investment that will pay off!
2I preordered Wii Fit and I'll just put the rest in savings. But I'd love a new tv, at least 42" or so. Maybe next year.
3i'm saving it. i'm not like our president, i realize we are in a technical recession so i'm going to sock it away for a rainy day.
4I have a washer and dryer that could stand to be paid off, but I may need a black berry in addition.
5The vast majority of it's going into savings, but I'm going to purchase or pre-order a couple of games with it, too.
6Technically I've already spent it on my new computer when the old one died so, I'll be paying myself back for a gadget
7Bills, baby! I'll use mine for making the smallest, yet better than nothing, dent on my student loans
8I don't qualify to get the tax rebate, and as such, I'm tired of hearing about it.
9I'll definitely spend some of it on games that I've been wanting.
10Nope. I'll use it to pay off my credit card debt some more.
11I charged my Wii so I already used a part of the rebate to pay for it. I also bought Mario Kart Wii, some makeup, and shoes with it. And the rest will be going towards landscaping for my house, since it's brand new and hasn't had a yard since we moved into it in October!
12I want a wii but i'll prob use it for necessities:(
13If we were getting one, I'd probably spend it on a 3G iPhone if that is actually coming out.
14I just ride the subway everywhere, so I hardly ever drive. I think I put gas in my car maybe once a month.
I'm with MandyJoBo on this one. I'll probably use mine to get a 3G iPhone.
15bills and acupuncture treatments for me.
16No gadgets for us. (My Geek husband will not relent in his efforts to convince me otherwise.)
We have more glaring needs, at the moment. (The remainder, if any, will be placed into savings.)
17Woo hoo! May 16th - I'm in the money!
Too bad the husband wants to put it in our
savings. Boooo! Hisssss! I wanted to buy something with electronic buttons!
Gas - bleh. It's at $3.49 by me.
18maybe i'll get a wii fit with mine and use the rest for practical things like school textbooks or set it aside for moving costs. i get a carbon tax rebate in june or july so i'll do something fun with that.
19I really want an Apple TV. But I know I should put that $$ into savings.
Half N Half maybe?
20Good Christ, I didn't realize this was a female forum!! Sorry, well anyway, I am spending my rebate on things I need for my new job in Iraq, with prices where they are, me and my girlfriend somehow, which is like totally beyond me, but we can't live on combined total of $27+ an hour, so I am going to Iraq as a mechanic, where I will make $26/hour, which isn't very much, but it is all tax free, and should clear $86,000 for the year, so with that I can pay off bills/cars/credit cards... YES!!!
21I want to put it away for a rainy day.
22Rebate? What is this rebate thing of which you speak?
Seriously, I owed the IRS thousands this year. While the rest of you are out enjoying your "economic stimulus package" I'm forking more over to Uncle Sam and I'm not too happy about that.
Rebate or not, I'm buying Mario Kart this weekend.
23I pod touch baby!!
24I spent half of mine on a 4 gig nano and the rest is going towards clothes for my Summer job.
25pay off credit cards.
