With millions picking up copies of Grand Theft Auto this week, the game is already coming under fire for its violence and sexual content that can be unlocked by players. Well funnyman Conan O'Brien got wind of this news and actually got his hands on a copy of the new "toned-down" version of GTA IV, which was created in reaction to all the criticism. A must-see indeed!

that is AWESOME.
1That makes me laugh!
2OMG, my bf got this game on Wed, let me just tell you, I am embarrassed for men everywhere! It is pathetically sexual in all of the geekiest ways possible. There's a cartoon champagn room lap dance. Its quite sad. Men are sad.
3Grand theft auto is way too raunchy for kids...

love Conan! I don't play video games (well, except SSX Tricky snowboarding; I play it maybe
3x's a yr,lol.) so I don't see the appeal of of this game. Personally I think it's disgusting with all of the violence & sexual material; I've heard enough about it to know I would never
approve of it.
5I've been playing Grand Theft Auto for years and I must say I've never been tempted to go out in real life and run over people with my car or kill a hooker.
I think if you're predisposed to being crazy, the content of any video game you play (or movies you watch, or music you listen to) doesn't mean anything. A sociopath could play a Kirby game and walk away wanting to hurt someone, possibly pink and balloon-like.
People seem to think Grand Theft Auto's aim is to be as violent and depraved as possible, but it's really just a mission-based game that sometimes requires violence. There are a lot of missions and side quests that are completely non-violent (like driving a taxi, finding hidden packages, going dancing, etc). It's not about getting off by doing things virtually that you shouldn't do in real life; it's a game and an amusing one at that.
*puts away soapbox*
That being said, this clip was ridiculously hilarious. Conan's people should talk with Rockstar; I think they could get a development deal.
6Too funny!
7Liz R: Great comment. I, too, agree. I think most people, kids included, are sane enough to realize that it's just a video game and that the game and real life are two very different things. (Although I do have to say that some material here isn't appropriate for kids, though it's not any worse than what you can find on TV or movies.)
Anyway, I laughed my behind off watching this. I love the VOs. Conan rocks.
8what does it say about me that i wish you could randomly shove people in more games, after playing Scarface on wii? I hope this doesn't imply that i am naturally prone to violence?!
9This is a very entertaining time burner. Although, I've never gotten too far in any GTA game due to my inability to focus - but it's still fun.
