I've always thought of portable gaming systems like the Nintendo DS or Sony PSP as substitutes for the real thing. Don't get me wrong, I always slip my DS into my purse when I know I am going to have to wait for a plane, train or automobile, but it's just not as engaging and exciting as playing the game on a console like the Wii or Xbox. It's the big sound. It's the vibration. It's the big screen. When it comes to gaming, do you prefer one or the other or do you love them equally?

1Console. I only use my DS for travel, for which it rocks, but I don't use it at home.

4I love both - They're all great in their own ways. I love my ds because I can bring it anywhere, but its nice to sit on the couch in front of my tv and play my ps2.

7i guess i've always played on a console more than portable system anyway, so maybe that's the reason why i prefer the console.
8Definitely console. It seems like I only really feel comfortable playing puzzle-type games on a portable.
9The wii could be considered both, in my opinion.
10I prefer console, but I will play Super Mario Bros. on the DS. I can't do RPGs on handheld games AT all.
11both - i like my DS when i want to play for a little while, or for solo playing. even for 1-player games i play wii with my best friend, so it is more of a time commitment, and an activity, rather than something to pass the time, like with my DS.

I have a dreamcast and a soon-to-be-replaced-by-PS3 PS2.
I used to have a gameboy advance, but I never played it. I'm not into gaming on the go or whatever.

Really it depends on the game at hand. I won't play MMORPGs on a console, can't play Wii Bowling on my PC, and can't play BrainAge on my big screen TV. I spend most of my gaming hours at the PC, though.
20DS, PS2, PS3 and finally getting 360 this week. I like variety and not one system can give me everything I want to play.

23Definitely the console. I love the 360...and I just bought a Wii last week! I can't get enough of both. Portable systems are good for those on the go, but they don't have the greatest games on them...like GTA IV! I do want to get a PSP though. I do enjoy some PC gaming once in a while with my boyfriend. Some Battlefield 2 and Counter-Strike never hurts.
