The last time I had to use a payphone, it was because my phone errantly died (I sincerely hope that's what happens to Carrie Bradshaw here) and I was supposed to meet my boyfriend somewhere.
I remember being grossed out by all the germs of a shared phone, and got none of the nostalgia of being a teenager and using a payphone to call my mom to come pick me up from the mall. This Crosley 1950's Style Payphone returns all that nostalgia with none of the Purell — it goes in your home, and though quarters aren't required to use it, the coin slot works and the money gets deposited in the back of the phone — like a piggy bank!
On the other hand, vintage style aside, this could be gauche in the wrong setting. What's your take?

it's cute!
1I think it's VERY BRADY BRUNCH.
2how fun and cute! definatly a "conversation" starter!
3I love this! It's adorable.
4adorable, a great way to save up
5I love it. It would be great for a cool basement phone!
6cute in that "i wouldn't put it where i live" kind of way...that crazy crazy quirky friend we all have could pull it off, but i wouldn't dare
7This is so neat, I gotta get one~!
8I think it'd be neat as long as I didn't actually have to put money in it for it to work in my own home O.O
9I adore this! I've seen pay phone's as wall decorations, but one that actually works is absolute darling!
10I think it's interesting, it really depends on the setting. Some of my cousins bought a house in Chicago and in their basement they literally have an old pay phone with a booth (I'd say it's from the 1960's), BUT what's awesome is, is that the booth is actually a secret passage into a back area where there was a bar and underground gambling occured because there were spaces in the wall for where slot machines could go and lots of match books and ash trays with names of it on their. When I first saw it, I thought "this is awesome" because when I was younger I always wanted to have a secret passage in my house
11"when I was younger I always wanted to have a secret passage in my house"
Didn't we all...I still do!
12I want one!
13i'm sort of torn. i don't have a phone hooked up now because i never call anyone(apart from my mom/brother every 2 weeks). somehow this is strangely appealing, though. i like the "piggy bank" aspect of it a lot!
14i think it's super cute. great as a decorative thing.
15No caller ID? No thanks.
16i hate being reminded that i'm paying for services like phones or internets.
