Looks like the lovely get fit and have fun Wii Fit will be making its way to store shelves sooner than its expected May 19 release and here's to hoping I can kiss my gym membership goodbye! Said to be priced at $90, (Wii Balance Board included), the Wii Fit may just be your ticket to that summer beach bod you've desperately been trying to achieve — well maybe not. After watching Diane Sawyer and the rest of the Good Morning America crew take the Wii Fit for a test drive, I don't think I saw a drop of sweat or anything that resembled a serious workout. Watch the vid below and tell me if you think this is going to be a calorie burner or not? I say not so much, but then again, maybe "fake skiing" will do a body good?!

dude, i seriously hope you're not implying diane has thunder thighs.
1well werent the early videos for more of a workout assistant and not that you would use it with games. like doing pushups on it or using it to balance?
2Yeah, I'd say the skiing game is probably the equivalent of Wii tennis in terms of a workout. There's other games planned that involve yoga positions, step aerobics, and other more intensive workout modes.
3I can't wait! Especially after I read this guy's account of using Wii Fit every day for 2 months and losing 10lbs. Check it out: http://www.4colorrebellion.com/archives/2008/04/02/the-great-experiment-...
4That's the final report, but if you want more details you can click the link at the bottom for his daily journal reports.
ehadams: all that link does is show that any exercise causes weight loss. this guy isn't comparing a wii fit workout to a previous workout he tried. he just went from nothing to something - so of course it is going to work!! he would get the same exact results if he walked two miles every day after work.
5tennis looks like more of a workout than this but its still agreat idea and I can't wait to give it a shot
6this will be great in winter, especially - when i hate leaving the house (too rainy and blah) to go for a long walk/hike. something is better than nothing.
7ehadams, thanks for the link that's so cool he lost weight. I think the bottom line is that a lot of people aren't gonna workout unless it's fun to them, and it's almost like your not really working out.
I can't wait to get my hands on this puppy!
8I've already bought mine. Although I'm sure it won't beat DDR for pure-fun cardio.
Hurry up, May!!
9ugh SweetnLow -- I LOVE ddr. So much fun, and such great cardio!
10I am so getting this!!! I don't know why I'm so totally excited for it, but I am.
