With the dreaded tax day over and done with, you can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that your return is signed, sealed, and waiting to be delivered. Now all you have to do is kick back and wait for that sweet return to arrive so you can take that trip, buy that gadget, or invest (which is a very savvy thing to do, indeed!).

Since it's so simple these days, I filed my taxes online instead of dragging my butt down to a tax professional and letting them figure it out for me. And just to prove that more Americans are doing the same, this year, 38 million people filed their taxes online in the first few months of the year, up five percent from 2007! So if you've already spent your return, or if you just barely got your taxes in by midnight last night, were you one of the millions that filed online?

My taxes are too easy and simple to spend the money to have someone else do them.
My husband and I did them Monday night, and mailed them in yesterday. It was no big deal.
My taxes are simple since it's just me and I don't have much assets to claim. I did mine in February. =)
i've been doing my taxes online since 2000. fortunately they are still simple enough to do that way.
Yes! I love my CPA!
No on both possibilities. I never pay for a professional to do my taxes, I do them myself, then I mail them in.
i did mine saturday and just mailed it yesterday. just in time to be postmarked haha
turbotax was tripping and wanted to charge me $100. i filed with taxslayer.com for $20....easy as pie.
If you don't do them yourself you'll never learn anything! One year I lived in 2 different states and had a zillion deductions so now compared to that, they are easy!
My father-in-law is a CPA so he does our taxes and files online. We did ours at the end of February and I've already gotten both state and federal back.
I've used H&R Block's online tax thing for years and years now... from back in the day where e-filing was brand new. Ok now I feel kinda old. I once went in to an H&R Block office and they wanted to charge me like $300 to file my taxes (b/c I sold a lot of stocks I guess). So I did it online myself for $30. Yay for being self sufficient.
Nope, not this year. We were audited the last 2 years because of mistakes made by...the IRS! Not by us! They cleared us in the end. So, this year we mailed it in with every bit of paperwork we could possibly need attached to our return! It took an extra week, but no big deal!
Online and professional are NOT the only options! I did it the same way I have since I've had to fill out taxes -- pen and paper in the dining room.
I have always done my taxes online as far as I can remember. I heart TurboTax.
since i have to file Alberta taxes and live in BC, i find it easier to do it on paper with being in school. when i worked i did it online (since i could afford the $20 or so). this year i got my accountant uncle to do them for me (he does most people's in the family, kindly enough) since i didn't earn anything last year.
