Sweatin' to the oldies may be the last thing these senior citizens will want to do after getting a taste of the Nintendo Wii. The Chicago Tribune reported that the Wii is stirring up alot of excitement at the Sedgebrook retirement community in Chicago, IL where the average age of players is 77. The most popular game Wii Bowling, is installed inside Sedgebrook's clubhouse lounge and guess what? ...drum roll....The residents love it! They even organized a Wii virtual bowling tournament!
“I've never been into video games, but this is addictive,” said 72-year-old Flora Dierbach. “They come in after dinner and play. Sometimes, on Saturday afternoons, their grandkids come play with them … A lot of grandparents are being taught by their grandkids. But, now, some grandparents are instead teaching their grandkids.”

That's awesome! My husband and I love our Wii. We really enjoy the bowling and tennis! =D
1EGM did a feature where they took a wii to a nursing home... I'll see if I can dig up the video of it...
2i hope all gaming systems get to where you have to get off your butt and play!
3i love it that is SO adorable! i need to get another wii remote so my boyf and i can play tennis
4I can attest that the Wii brings families together. My grandparents are 76 and 86 and every other weekend I go to their house for a visit and a nano-second after the normal hugs and hellos, they ask "Did you bring the Wii??"
5My grandma kicked my uncles behind at golf. THAT was funny!!!
Ahhh that is soo great to hear LilPeaPod. I am tempted to get one for my grandparents!
6How cute! I'm FINALLY getting a Wii, hopefully it will be here tomorrow. My husband has been looking since they came out (I was supposed to get one for Christmas but that didn't work out so well for me.) and finally got his hands on one today. So excited! now I just have to wait for it to ship.
